This morning my son sat his last exam at school, till last year it was brilliant always high up in the exam tables ect.
Deputy head was appointed head last year (while off sick !)and has ruined the school in less than 12 months and it has been put on special measures ! the "poor " head was on the front of the local weekly paper on Saturday and she has been signed off with stress for the next 6 months !!!!
Im sorry but some people just aren't in the real world and need a kick in the arse as do some of the people who employ them
At least the pupils now have big 6ft laminated posters around the school with " every pupil is trying their best " from the head just before she left-pity she wasn't
public and private sectors are miles apart and for some funny reason there seems to be more "sick an stressed" people in one half than the other ?

That is simply being promoted beyond their competence. The stress rapidly rises when someone isn't any good at their job and just buries their head in the sand.

Depends entirely on what parts of the public and private sectors you look at.

How can you get signed off for " the next six months". (Not doubting you)?
How does anyone know how long you are going to be suffering for?
No idea how it works. I'm as baffled as you. The annoying one who works for my OH was recently signed off with depression for 2 weeks.
So the Dr thought she should be happy again after 2 weeks?

nope too poor and fat for that. Not sure she would get through the door on the plane, would deffo need at least 2 seats too.
She was that ill that she kept coming in to the shop to chat to others and stop them working which is more than she does when she is bloody working.

Maybe she had 2 weeks booked in the Caribbean, that would make me happy smile
Depending on how serious her depression is she might need some time off to adjust to the medication. 1-2 weeks is the norm. However, as far as I am aware, there are no regulation on how many times a doctor can sign you off sick...
