I'm trying to keep an open mind but from what I've seen so far I'm almost certainly going to end up with a PS4, albeit not for a little while.
I have been a long standing Playstation owner since the original gray one but was thinking of using the new generation and no backwards compatibility on the new consoles as an opportunity to switch, unfortunately what I've seen of the X box so far has completely put me off.

This poll is about which consoles people are going to buy - PC talk is banished herewith
Anyway - looks like there is going to be serious tumbleweed blowing down the halls of XBOX Live. I had better get used to talking to myself I guess...
At least we won't get any lag.

Back to the good old days of Xbox Live

My Xbox 360 lives here along with my PC in the spare room. It's only function is to play games on. As much as I would like to stick with Microsoft I can't justify the extra expense of a Xbox One. Also there is this need to connect to the internet once a day. WTF is all that about. On my work days (I work 12hr shifts) more often than not the Xbox is switched off for 4 or 5 days at a time.
I also have a SKY HD subscription so even if I moved my gaming to the lounge TV what extra functionality would that give over my SKY+ box.
So on the face of it I'll opt for a PS4 or perhaps I'll just build myself a decent gaming PC.
It will be interesting to see how this pans out though. Perhaps Microsoft will be doing some serious thinking about pricing and the other unpopular issues they seem to have landed themselves with. After all nearly every lost Xbox sale is a lost Live account.

I have a PS3 and 360 at the moment (what choice do you have if you want Forza and GT?) and prefer the "Live" experience of the 360 and the controller but I suspect I'll go for the PS4 only this time around and use the others as media centres or something.
Until I play Forza 7 (or whatever) and then feel forced to buy it because it's better than GT8.

Xbox for me, The DRM is the similar to steam which I don't have a problem with. The Joypads are better, my Xbox is always connected to the Internet, kinect won't be all that important(will you need it for Battlefield or Forza?.....no) hopefully all the squeaky kids will be put off by the cost, etc and jump ship to playstation.

One or two games from E3 look interesting but nothing got me terribly excited.
