I shall never forget the comment that Tiff Needell made on these cars.:-

"It is the only car I have raced that understeered on the straight!"

Hungry for a good classic Jaguar I was tempted by this Today . No MOT for a decade raised some concerns though the red leather I found surprisingly attractive

Could it have been on a private plate for those ten years, hence not showing on the mot check?
I love those red seats

Nice motor.

But it doesn't have the ride of a proper old school Jag.

That is lovely! Not keen on a vinyl roof or the wire wheels but it’s bloody nice
Roof is fine by me … the w/w not so much - same as you. Bit of a wide price guide on this one suggests they’re not quite so sure what price it’ll make …
Was only bid to 18K.

Yeah they're not great in my experience - i'd be very surprised if anyone that's actually driven one is paying the currently-inflated prices, let's put it that way. Still, got to admire Walkinshaw's efforts in spinning a load of dead JaguarSport parts stock in to a bunch of 'supercars' with their own race series.

Just a touch 'tart's bouduor', may look better with red carpets.....but those huge wheels and rubber bands for tyres will do the ride no favours.

As long as they are not "run-flat" tyres, the ride will be just fine.

Whilst I like the red leather, I didn’t like this model of XJ or its replacement.

The X350 could clatter about a bit over broken ground especially when fitted with the P6000 s . I would habitually switch these to Falken and then no issues .
I personally never liked the Sepang as a wheel though others rated them

I got down to see this yesterday only to find the car sat in front of the window and the garage closed . A bit sat to find the Callisto Wheels needing a proper cleaning as well as extensive chipping and scratching to the front of the bonnet and the front bumper . I accept its far from a new vehicle but at this money ?

Given what people are paying for hot hatches these days that doesn't look expensive.

Maybe there is hope for you yet!

Up in Glasgow at the moment visiting my 86 year old father and at a loss as to what to do , we jumped in the GTS and went to Scottish Motor Services .
Sadly the E Type in question like last time was at their storage facility and the key holder isn't back till Tuesday so a bit of a wasted journey . Looking around the stock I could see it was no different from my last visit 6 months ago and the Salesman told me its been pretty slow with Sales of Classic Cars averaging between 9 and 11 per year and none coming south to England . He blames the situation on the lack of interest from the younger generation and I think I agree with that point of view . the E type on the above link has remained static for the last 3 years .

Looks an absolutely stunning car and I love the colour. I wasn’t aware that was one of the original colours.

For people like me, I’ve always considered owning a classic car. However I just don’t have the money or time to devote to one.
