Wonder what Arsenal FC think about all this (they are sponsored by Rwanda)
"Prime Minister, you've cancelled the Rwanda scheme citing it as unsafe for migrants yet the strip of the football team you support literally states "Visit Rwanda". Do you condone this sponsorship deal ?"Best get your answer prepared Kier.
Hence he better get his "it's not hypocrisy or political point scoring honest guv" answer honed as best he can.
Like i said, i'm sure his answer will be fully formed and sufficient to stop the political point scoring happening.

I do indeed. Rwanda totally unsafe to be sent to but ok to go voluntarily. Got it.
I'm not sure you have got it at all.Again, it's the optics of it all and politically how he can answer that question without condemning his team for taking the Rwandan dollar.
When you are PM in waiting, "support the team not the regime" doesn't work.

We have plenty of space, the UK is mostly farm land fitting more people it could be achieved by densifying cities, in fact is we densified our largest cities of levels seen on the continent you could fit multiples of the current population in.
Isn't farm land required, production of food not necessary?UK cities are already pretty densely occupied, if you consider England a country - and if Scotland and Wales are countries so is England - it is one of the mostly densely occupied countries in Europe

‘Densifying’ cities is a pretty idiotic idea unless you want more grenfells
European comparison. Note those above us.
European countries by percentage of urban population.
Ie the midget countries or those that have a completely inhospitable hinterland. Talksteer is talking out of his steer.
Now we could concrete over the Agri productive land, but then I suspect he would be complaining about the UK not producing enough of its own produce. Brownfield is a different question but how we do that is bloody expensive.
To be clear when anyone involved in town planning talks about urban density they mean how many people live in a given square km of urban environment.
What you are presenting is statistics about the rate of urbanisation. This is a more nebulous term as different countries determine urban areas in different manners. In the UK and area is considered "urban" if it is a population centre with more than 10,000 people that is continuous, which in the UK basically means are those areas linked by street lit roads.
What I was pointing out is that by European standards our cities have low density in that we fit fewer people in per square km. This is because we basically have either a depopulated central district or a relatively dense and small core with tower block in it but then almost immediately jump to streets with single family home on them.
In most European countries there would be far more low rise communal residential buildings and far more streets of town houses or tenements. If we followed this building plan we could fit dramatically more people into the UKs urban areas. The side benefit of this would be that for people living in these area they would be closer to services and also have enough footfall to support a similar level of public transport investment as is achieved in London.
These dense urban areas tend to be amongst the most desirable places to live in the UK (e.g. Mayfair) so it's crazy that we aren't trying to replicate this success as a national policy as opposed to building low density suburbs with no character or services around the edges of cities.

Thinking Rwanda is a st hole country is just a racist dog whistle.
People thinking it's a st hole country is the entire basis of the policy.sort of a Schrödinger's ste hole
We obviously have it so easy that the main things we have to debate are topics that tie ourselves in gordian knots as we disappear up our own collective hoop.
Mother Nature is a cruel mistress.

So, a court in N.I has deemed that the plan to send asylum seekers is in breach of the Windsor Protocol and the Good Friday Agreement
Not in and of itself terribly important BUT politically a nightmare for spineless Rishi.
The Agreement is a binding contract in which UK and USA are co guarantors. Will be interesting to see how that plays out.

The boats will keep going round the south coast of England, up the Irish sea, and arrive in Belfast a week later?Or any asylum seeker arriving on the south coast will board the first National Express coach to NI?
NI will be flooded with asylum seekers, the boats from
Cairnryan will be jammed
