Angry hun missed the northern 'lites' on Friday night, fuming that she went out last night and it was overcast. 'It's ridiculous', apparently.

Came back over the Cat and Fiddle last night from Buxton after a meal at about 10 pm. A constant stream of cars leading from Macclesfield going onto the top. All lanes blocked, car parks etc, total chaos. You know that scene in every invasion by alien forces movie when the film's hero returns to his hometown to rescue his family and he passes long streams of traffic fleeing in the other direction? That's what it was like. Extraordinary stupidity.

Most of the nearby seaside towns had traffic gridlock and people being angry and fumin' about the lack of aurora.

One wag pointed out that there was no point complaining about the the traffic chaos, because your were the traffic chaos! biggrin

You can't even trust Natural Phenomena these days. I blame Brexit/The Tories/Trump/Starmer/SNP/ delete as appropriate.

We arrived at the car park for our local North-facing hill at around 11pm on Saturday night. There was only one space left in the car park, the busiest I've ever seen it, albeit daytime only in the past.
I suggested to my girlfriend that I should have put on a hi-viz waistcoat, stood at the entrance and asked each subsequent arrival, "Northern Lights or dogging?". Then directed each car in the opposite direction to the previous one.

Still banging on about the northern lights

People asking which way north east is, how do these people survive

It’s a good job (or not perhaps) shagging is enjoyable and relatively intuitive

The amount of mangled spellings of 'aurora borealis' I've seen on my local FB pages makes me wonder if any of the members ever went to school.

The pictures of places full of cars with their headlights on was hilarious. You need a good dark place to see them well. Even in Iceland on a good night they look weak in Reykjavik and you really need to get out of town into a national park or other empty area for a good view.

These are people who record videos of fireworks in portrait on their phones, or try and take pictures of a full moon on full digital zoom with the flash on. I don't think their minds can comprehend using common sense and logic.

‘Has anyone else have a…’ That’s not good grammar is it? But I can’t work out why even though I know exactly what they mean, it just doesn’t seem to scan correctly. Maybe the Ororara boreeahlis is messing with my mindscratchchin
