TVR Continental Meeting 2016

Well that was a heroic drive.
The E40 was even worse than you could imagine. Walking pace at times due to the thunderstorms, not because of accidents or queues, but because that was the max safe speed.
Of course there were queues too, the worst being the Brussels ring road, where several cars were abandoned on the side of the motorway with water up to their windows - no joke.
Now the thunderstorms have caught with me where I'm staying in Geleen, the thunderclaps are so powerful you can feel them.
Hope the weather tomorrow is more forgiving.

Few decent laps. Going well till brakes cooked and came into hairpin with nothing. Pedal to the floor. Poop. Handbrake works when you really pull on the fxxker lol. Went for a detour off round some buildings. Managed to get a few other incidents on camera as well. First one you can see dump some fluids then overcook it out of the corner. Next a Tuscan going for style points
Overall top event and I can thoroughly recommend to anyone. Never been before, but definitely 100% going again. Everyone great fun and everybody absolutely on it. Great event to see all models of TVR's driven as they were meant to be. 10/10 from me.
Best bit? It's all timed Kinda ruins UK trackdays a bit now.
Next plans? Better brakes. Guys there said it was a very harsh track on brakes as lots of downhill high to low speed corners requiring a lot of very hard braking. And they were correct So, I could only get 5 laps then really starting to smell, and finally failed on me as you can see in vid. Doesn't look anywhere as dramatic as it felt at the time which is a shame lol. Could visibly see people able to brake later. Went out in a sweet 4.5 T350 as passenger and brakes were so much better.
Also the Tamora's lowly 3.6 was showing up the lack of grunt coming out of the corners.
Thinking about going next year? I would 100% recommend you do (unless we aren't allowed, or need visa's etc).

Good to meet and glad you enjoyed the event as I said more than just a track day, glad you enjoyed the passenger ride in my T350, so you brakes did fail then, get the bigger discs same as mine from http://www.clbraking.co.uk/fortuna-moto-ltd so much better than the standard ones, sounds like you boiled the fluid so I would get new fluid and discs and pads, I use Ferodo s2500 and no problems so farhttps://www.facebook.com/100004956582618/videos/63...

This seems to be a Tamora thing. I had the same at the end of the back straight. Gravel was still coming out of the car when we were back in the UK. Sorry we didn't get to meet - I should have made more of an effort to find you! Perhaps next year an all Tamora Continental Le Mans entry? As ever many thanks to our Dutch hosts. Some of us in the UK really appreciate your hospitality!
