I just plug in my iPod, it fits perfectly between the cubby hole and the gear lever.

How do you like the car, what colour combo did you go for? Is it a 2.7?

Thanks for the +ve comments. I do really like the CX; never had one but a friend's dad had a CX Presteige. Very cool.

It took me a while to get the right seat position. Never had so many options before so I was inclined to fiddle. It's good now and the wheel is the right position too. It just fits perfectly. Such a natural car for me.

Drove from Maidenhead to Edinburgh recently and managed to get all the way there and back without stopping once. When I got home I wasn't tired in the slightest!

Thanks - I quite like the 607 but don't think I've ever seen a really specced up one.

Just put new boots on the front whilst it was having a nail taken out of the nearside rear. The Hancook Ventus V12s I have on the back are OK but the ones on the front lasted about 10,000 miles which I didn't think was much good. I have chosen Falken ZE912 tires which were also slightly cheaper than the Hancooks and much more so than the Michelin Premacy OEM tires which I don't rate anyway. The Falkens seem really quiet.

Hm. They seem to be held in higher regard by C6 owners on the forum so we'll see. Hopefully they will last a bit longer! Next up - new rear disks and pads. Probably do this after I pay my VED in Jan.

I met 6 other C6 owners at the pub the other day which was brilliant. Learned a lot from chatting to the others and we'll meet again one evening to take some pictures (was midnight by the time we finished in the pub and too dark for any good pics!)

I'm going to have the oil in the sealed gearbox changed. BL Autos say they can do it (guy from garage was there at the meet). It's not too far away but I wondered if anyone knows of anywhere with experience with this nearby (I'm in Maidenhead). I asked Forge in Cookham (citroen specialists) and they haven't done one before and don't seem confident to try.

I've done 70K now and would like to have it changed as other owners say though it should technically never need changing, it's best to do it if you can because the stuff comes out filthy and I always like to over-service if possible!

The service interval on the car is 20K but I'm having new filters and engine oil every 10K too.

Cheers

I'll get a pic for you later. The boot is pretty long but not very high, if that makes sense. I'm a bass player and my speaker cabs didn't quite fit in the boot. Mind you, they are massive. It happily carries anything else I have had occasion to use.

One thing to consider is that if you have the 'lounge pack' (reclining/heated rear seats) you can't fold the rear seats down.

It's ok. been to see ne now. very nice!!

i'm actually looking for a 2.2HDI one, due to the much lower tax band, but will see what I can find, they seem very rare.

I do have a question about the floatiness, if you set off briskly from a stop it did take a good few rocks backwards and forwards before settling down. Does this sound normal for a c6? or was it just so noticable because of the headup display?
Ah good, because I forgot again, didn't I!

Possibly a little bit, I don't really notice it if it does. I was talking to the guys about this a few days ago and each C6 is slightly different to the next because the suspension adapts to your driving style. Mine feels quite soft which I really like but not unsuitably so. A friend has a very early one and he says it's softer, so much so that passengers in the back find it more like sailing!

thanks for that. final question smile should the suspension get harder in sport mode? I didn't notice any difference test driving it, but assume it would?!?
No problem, happy to help.

Engaging the sport mode activates extra spheres (2 I think?) to firm up the suspension but you'll only notice when cornering, where the car stays flatter. Sometimes I'll use it when I want to pull away quickly combined with sport gearbox mode because it feels tighter and less chance of 'pitching' over undulations.

Here's a shot of my car outside some gates where I was intercepted by a man on a lawnmower... I had to raise the suspension to make good my getaway and it was quite a thrilling, albeit slow, race.

One of my all time favourite cars and since this thread has resurfaced they are getting pretty cheap for what you get. Less than £8k now for what looks like decent examples on AT.

Op, my milage is low like yours. Do you suffer from any DPF problems at all? I hear so many horror stories about low milage diesel users that it puts me off!

Back to AT now.
Hi

No I haven't had any and I do fairly low miles in mine but I just make sure I give it a good motorway blast now and then... I do remember one of the members having the warning come on which disappeared after a long drive. I'm not really sure but have a look at C6owners forum.

Is it possible to hire one for a few days does anybody know?
You might be able to get an extended test drive! I have actually seen a C6 taxi before so you could hire one of those!

you know if you saw that, something big was about to go down, pefect car for the secret service.
Haha yeah it does make you look like an assassin ALL THE TIME which can be quite cool. I drove the wrong way into an exclusive hotel event and the guards waved me on like I owned the place, only to do a 5 point turn and go back (wrong hotel!)

Cheers

Nice. I saw a green one with cream leather when I went to do the paperwork on mine. It's a very dark green which does indeed look very nice.

I recall seeing a 3.0L one on eBay a few months ago...

Still loving it - just had a slight coolant leak fixed and new rear disks. Drove 1000 miles to Scotland and back in it recently, it was great!

BTW mine's done 90K now.

5th Gear borrowed it for a feature the other day and got some pen on my spotless headlining. I was fuming, but to be fair to them they've paid for a valet to come and remove it and do the full interior so all is well.

The feature will be out in April or something, they just did some sort of a 'buyers guide' and some shots of Plato booting it around Coventry along with an XF V8 and Alpha 166 3L V6.

One way to tell from the outside is that the 3ltr has two single exhausts as opposed to a twin exhaust on one side, and the wheels are different.

Excellent, good to hear of another 6 on the roads!!

I had a headlight fail on me this morning, so it'll be replaced on Thursday.
