Jimmy played 4 out of 5 I think? Great to see him still managing to cope with that much, hopefully he'll get a few more wickets this test.
2 more for 700!
It doesn't seem like 5mins ago I saw him get his 500th!

To add....10 more to take 2nd place would seem doable this year.

Getting first spot ever seems highly unlikely.

Oh dear. It started so well. As it usually does these days.

You have to give credit to India's bowlers. It's not just all about 'England collapsing'.

It's not far off.

These don't sound like unplayable deliveries (not in a position to watch).

Bit of both, good bowling and poor batting

175-3. 183-8 in 36 balls.

Still, it's exciting....

Focus on the positives, we might get to see Jimmy’s 700 today

I will be flying out from CPH tomorrow (Wednesday) overnight toward Delhi, and then on to Dharamsala in the morning, hope to get to the ground around tea. Is anyone else on here going to the match?
No, but very envious. Have a great time.
Very jealous, looks amazing on this BBC vid. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/cricket/67781543

These collapses are a killer. No doubt India are bowling well, but the middle order has really struggled in this series.

It's interesting how the tail end often does (relatively) better in these situations. Maybe only other bowlers and the wicketkeeper have the insight required to deal with this kind of tricksy bowling.

Tufnell on the BBC: 'India's spinners have spun a web. That's the great thing about it, that's why I loved doing it. Once you get batsmen not quite sure where it's going or what it's doing, they start playing down the wrong line and it's smoke and mirrors.'

Interesting to see the aggressive approach India are using with their openers. Jaiswal is something else.

Yeah, but we showed them that aggressive play is the way forward. Without England there would be no attacking shots. By any team.

In a less facetious tone, an entirely dismal, characterless capitulation.

He also note that you watch the ball from the hand.

But they gained a psychological edge and the result is plain to see.

Another commentator noted that people like Bairstow (and Foakes) should have been wise to it.

Shoulda woulda coulda
