The Orange Bikes web site has been off line for a couple of days, I don't know if that's a bad sign or part of a re-jig of their operations.
Yeah, I'd notice that too - not sure what to read from it.

Must confess I bobbed in to look for bargainswhistle

The reputation for cracking can’t have helped them. About 4-5yrs ago it seemed like every other post on the Orange Facebook groups was another person saying they’d cracked their Alpine or whatever. To be fair to Orange they seemed to sort people out and see them right but it’s a hassle being without your bike.

I'd heard about cracked frames too, that was why I went for a new one as it came with a 5 year frame warranty.

Website is still down. Really sad if this is the end for Orange- for the people working there and the brand.

I only have a couple of old Aluminium Elites but liked that they were still around and doing UK MTB stuff. A lot of valid criticisms and reality checks listed on this thread though.

I hope something can be worked out to keep the business going. But it’s not a rosy UK background in bikes at the moment.

Fire sale started by the looks of it to raise some short term cash.

That's a lot of models for a small company and things like e-bikes are not included.

Some of the 2021 bikes are ebikes. What condition will the battery be in after years without charging?

I've just read on the Orange Facebook page that the company has been re-structured and will continue in business under Ashley Ball, who was a sub contractor for Orange Bikes.

Hopefully good news for us Orange fans.

It’s good news but I’m a bit confused (and probably being really thick). Didn’t Ashley Ball already own both companies after acquiring Orange Bikes in 2015? If so, how does this work & where has the debt gone - suppliers etc left high & dry?

The web site is back up and showing some decent offers with prices being more where the ought to be in order to be tempting.

...I quite fancied an EVO frame to stash away until I noticed they all seem to be 27.5

A new fabricator welder has started at our spot, he’s spent the last five years welding up Orange frames.

You will remember to shut that gate won't you wink.

Sorry... Very old Orange joke there.

I love them. Good single pivot bikes have unique and poppy ride feel.

Nice looking bike yours.

My old five, on one of its first rides (Ladybower). Custom factory paint and build by Stif. IIRC 2010.

My 2007 5, which was my main bike until 2 years ago, now just used as a spare bike. Picture taken around Coniston Water, a mate was using my 5 whilst I was on my new Bird.
