Err, it will take more than that to outpace an E60 M5

Err..... I think you'll find that a stock 1M has already lapped the 'Ring a sec or so quicker than a stock E60 M5 wink

So, no it won't really take any more than it's already got to outpace an E60 M5 biggrin

Why say Err 130R ?? I appreciate you have an M6 but the maths points to the tuned 1M being quicker.
A steptronic Alpina B3S 4 door, with a derivative of the same N54 engine as the 1M, is a 0-160kmh in 9.8 seconds car. The tuned 1M will have 5% more power than the Alpina, have 10% more torque than the Alpina and weigh 70Kg less ergo I think it will be quicker than the Alpina.

The tuned 1M will have 35% better torque to weight than an E60 M5 and will only be 2% down on power to weight. I think the 1M will be as quick as an E60 M5 from a standing start and quicker in-gear and a lot quicker round a circuit.

1M seems expensive to me in comparison
But, in comparison, is also going to be a lot cheaper to run than the V8 M3.... and being smaller as well as nearly 150kg lighter than a M3, probably 'more fun'.

Horses for courses......
I drink wine at previous points, because to me there is a difference. I don't deride the stuff at lower prices, lesser vintages or growers.

I shop at Waitose , rather than Asda for there is a difference
And whilst at Waitrose, I choose the "full fat" version items rather than the "essentials" range.

Likely to be a great little car and I initially had put down a deposit on one but decided on an M3DCT comp pack instead. After having had a manual E46 M3 , Z4MC and E92 M3 I decided I didn't really want another M division notchy manual gearbox nor am I a turbo enthusiast so decided to have a last go with a naturally aspirated V8 before they are all gone.

I sure it goes fast.

It does not appeal to me though on looks. It looks ugly and a 50k specced out price tag? You can even get a real car for that much.

Each to their own. Best of luck.

Where is that 0-160 km/h time from? From sport auto I have seen a 0-200 km/h time of 16.2 s which is slower than an M3. I don't see how it does 0-160 km/h in 9.8 s ... Would be interesting to see a tuned 1M at VMAX, if it can top 180 mph I will eat my words.

I'd be amazed if it'll ever be pursuaded to do 180mph lol. So what, hopefully a joy to drive and quick (for this type of car) round a circuit. Other than on public roads in Germany I find top speed runs all very yawn inducing tbo. VMAX/Maxpower brigade - no ta.

Have good w/es all.

I think it might have been a rather pompous attempt at suggesting he prefers the finer things in life
eg. the M3 as apposed to a 1M Coupe rolleyes

I like the look of the new 1M, black would be my choice but you reckon VO better than white. Enjoy your new toy when it arrives and please do share your thoughts. I'm half considering one to replace the M3 but will wait until they've been driven by the press and people like your good self before buying (if there are any left)

No, it was not smile but I can see how it could have been misunderstood/not understood. The IM is a very special 1 , it is not a M3 or M5 and the limitations of those fine cars. So to try to compare the 1M merely on the price difference between them is, IMO, irrelevant. The 1M is a well honed car - for many it will be inappropriate, just as an M3/M5 is irrelevant for others.

Looks good.

Not sure about the size of the exahust cut outs on the rear apron seem on the large size.

However

Can you spec this as individual ?. Closer to the E92 GTS.

Would look great with graphite wheels.

Going by the info on Skidmarks fairly recently (pre VAT increase).

OTR UK price of 1M £39,990
Nav (std on M3) £2,010
Elec seats (std on M3) £910
Total £42,910

As only 450 for UK unlikely to be any discounts
I am not sure what the situation is today, but a lack of discount was certainly not the case 6-8 weeks ago.

No, there is no 'individual' spec option available for the 1M.
