We went to Paris house a few years ago for lunch. Very impressed with the food and a lovely quirky setting.
I think it’s lost it’s Michelin star for some reason.

A new one for the area. I'd like to recommend our recently re-opened local, the Three Tuns in Guilden Morden near Royston.
Bought by the local community in October 18 and re-opened in June following a massive village effort to renovate it. We have tenants, a couple, of whom one is an excellent chef. The food is superb and we have a 1/2 acre garden for the kids to run about in!

...not to be confused with the pub with the same name just down the road! Bought by the local community in October 18 and re-opened in June following a massive village effort to renovate it. We've got a Tabure in Berkhamsted.
The food is pretty good. What lets it down is that they serve it tapas-style, so dishes arrive as they're ready and given the menu, that doesn't really work - you end up finishing with something that should be an accompaniment to another dish.
Plus the service at ours is pretty dreadful.
I really want it to get better. I'll try it again soon to see if it has.
Just to update this (because I'd forgotten I'd written it), they changed the way they served slightly a short time after they opened. They still bring stuff as it's ready, but they seem to work out that you don't want to end on something random on its own.The food is pretty good. So, definitely recommended these days.

Opposite my favourite curry house!
Decent VFM or me just look at me ?
I think so. I think it’s 100 a head. Great to be able to chat to Scott and the other chefs and quiz them about techniques and other stuff. It’s a really fun and relaxed environment and the food was very tasty. Decent VFM or me just look at me ?
I suppose it depends what you want from your dining experience, I can see why some might not like that kind of setting. We loved it. :-)
For a curry in Harpenden, always reliable - https://sarakh.co.uk/
I had a rajasthani venison curry on Sunday, v good.
