Unusual drydock
And unlike Alang et al, a much more environmentally friendly way of dismantling ships

Just been granted permission to make the dock bigger too, removing 400,000t of rock from the back of the cutting and allowing bigger ships and more importantly, bigger topsides to fit in. And unlike Alang et al, a much more environmentally friendly way of dismantling ships

The largest sea lock in the world.
A new large sea lock is being built at the entrance to the North Sea Canal near IJmuiden. This gives access to the Amsterdam port region.
Sea lock IJmuiden will be 500 meters long, 70 meters wide and 18 meters deep. Construction started in January 2016, and the new sea lock will be available for shipping at the beginning of 2022.

I haven't ploughed through the whole thread so I don't know if this has been posted - a ferry in Cook Strait between the North and South islands of NZ.
It's about 20 years old so potato quality.
That's the MV Suilven - she sailed for over two decades off the west coast of Scotland with Caledonian MacBrayne, then was sold to New Zealand operators, then to Fiji, where she had a sad end to her career:It's about 20 years old so potato quality.
