Its happened at my local now too - Ruined it.
How is Aldi self-scam SO painful to use?!
First week there were just a few in operation - but tonight it was 'Self-Scam Only'...
Half way through I thought about walking out, but that woudlnt be fair on the poor guy trying to keep all 10 other scanners working.
There was nothing wrong with the conveyor belts - maybe just a couple of self scans would be ideal for '8 items or fewer'.

Only have problems with very light items. Pack of Ibuprofen I think.
More importantly, the onions bhajis are very good with the tikka masala.

Aldi has what I would desctibe as possibly the best wine in the country under £20 (I know, tastes vary). It is their French, Rhone Valley Vinsobres for an astonishing £8.49. You have to open and then let it breathe for a couple of hours. It has complexity and gentle tannins with a lovely balance of fruit. These Cru Cotes du Rhone are punching way above their price. This one reminds me of a Gigondas or a cheap (but good) Chateauneuf du Papes.
Just had a look online for the style of flavours, and found it's a dark red colour, full bodied with purple hues with largely herbal and black fruit aromas with a hint of liquorish. The savoury palate is round with elegant tannins, plum and pepper notes.My wife likes a red, specifically Aldi's Duoro. Have you tried this, and if so do you think it may be to her taste? The description sounds like it could well be?

I did recently try a Wagyu rib-eye from Aldi (don’t recall it being called Denver). It was fine but their standard matured steaks are decent quality anyway, so I'm not sure it was worth the extra cost but then I’m not a steak connoisseur.cuprabob said:
Only buying a few items in Aldi, I thought it was a godsend when they introduced the self checkouts but recently of the 8 installed at my local Aldi only half seem to be operational at a time

I cracked one of these last night and had a couple of glasses. Definitely leave it open for a while - seemed to get better as it aired.
