Buckfast. HTH.
Now yer talking. A man that knows buckfast.

My wife currently has a bottle in her suitcase flying over the Baltic Sea to give to her brother who misses it.

Disgusting stuff and I'd argue against the benefits of nostalgia. But if he wants to drink alcohol that tastes like milk of mangesia soaked in cola cubes fair fks to him. Nephew screwed me for 17 quid on a bottle of that stupid over priced prime juice which is also in the suitcase so I can't criticise.

The best wash down for KFC is wheat beer. But it's generally the best wash down for anything. Alternatively check your supermarket for grease cleaners.

Nothing useful to add but I once found a drawing pin in my Zinger burger (under the coating). Yummy…
You’d have been better off binning the burger and eating the drawing pin.

I had a KFC before Christmas and ordered a box meal. What has happened to the Zinger burger. It's shrunk by about 1/3rd.
And lost its "zing". Tasteless flabby thing it has become.

Honestly lads, who goes to KFC and orders a burger? It's a bit like going to McDonalds and ordering chicken. Wrong place for the order.

Can't beat a Morleys. 6 wings and fries for £3. Still better than kfc.
They're only south London aren't they? Triple M for me.

Because when you order the box meal, you get 2 Hot Wings with it. I order chicken on the bone half the time, but I don't eat KFC that often - maybe once every 2 months. I admit I quite like KFC Hot Wings when they do 20 for £5.99 offer.

A zinger is a chicken burger, not beef.
Allegedly.

I was and am joking but if I go to KFC I want deep fat fried chicken. I see no other reason to go there. If I want a good burger from the main chains it'll be BK. Debating in my head now whether a McChicken sandwich is worse than a KFC burger, I've lost the will to care but at least McDonalds aren't as dry and stingy.

Separate, but as a proper chilli head who thinks vindaloos are mild the zinger burger has no noticeable zing for me.

All of the spicy options in any chain take away or restaurant never taste spicy to someone used to heat unfortunately as they cater for the lowest denominator who see a bit of black pepper as a challenge

I remember thinking it was the ultimate when I was about 10, and also there were very few KFCs.

Good fried chicken can be excellent, I've only found KFC to be crap as an adult. Soggy and greasy.
You say that like it's a bad thing! smile

To be fair, it does vary from restaurant to restaurant. Also, if you've ever tried fried chicken from any of those KFC knock-off places, you soon realise that KFC isn't actually so bad after all.

This is the big issue with KFC and something they really should be tackling on a corporate level. More often than not you get greasy chicken, cold chips and gravy like water.

I agree that one of the things McD's has to a tee is consistency. I can order a Big Mac in pretty much any country and know what it'll taste like. KFC can be a bit of a gamble.

I'd recommend reading the book "Fast Food Nation", it's years since I read it and I've forgotten lots but micromanaging everything down to a consistent level is part of McDonald's special sauce, that and being child friendly when many other places frowned and harumphed at people bringing their children in.

Absolutely. Colonel Sanders is on record as being totally unhappy with what happened to his company after he sold it. They don’t even use his recipe anymore. He was very focused on quality and standards and the big corporate now just are not.

I don't eat there very often but McDs is

a) consistent
b) clean
c) edible

I got food poisoning in Paris in November at a restaurant and after 3 days of not eating I went for McDonalds as it was going to be safe, easy to eat and give me some energy back...

Also add cheap, and ubiquitous to the list.

I can't remember the last time I was abroad and didn't have a McDonald's at least once. They are everywhere and you know exactly what you're getting.

I like going into McDonald’s in any country I visit just to try something we don’t get in the UK

I’m disappointed. Atleast with Daily Mail you get a photo of someone with a sad face holding an empty bucket on such articles.

Having said that - imagine what happened when I took my Texan wife thru the drive thru and she ordered the biscuits and gravy - yikes

100%. I rarely to the point of never eat a McDonalds in the UK but I always seem to end up in one or a BK at least once when I'm away on holidays. Sometimes it's just because they're open and serving when you can't be arsed with a sit down meal, sometimes it's because you know what you're going to get, sometimes it's a McFlurry when I'm melting in the heat rather than a burger. I'll happily admit they're the easy lazy option but they're bloody ruthlessly good at what they do.

Man cannot live on Italian pizza slices and white wine alone, mainly because I'm not always in Italy and don't really like white wine.

presumably we have established that OP was told he couldn't buy the deal as it was below the minimum £5 card charge, not because of racism or whatever
