Rewatching Life On Mars, I’m actually enjoying more than when it first aired on the BBC all those years ago.

Never watched it, but did catch a snippet one time.

Something like
"Suspect, male IC1"
"You what, guv?"
"Um.... a white bloke"

Made me smile.

Stick with it please as I've yet to speak to anyone else who has seen it .
Started on this tonight, on the 3rd episode and enjoying it.
Lead actress is also in “obituary “ which is also a bit weird/dark humour.
No idea if Netflix have bought a job lot of Irish output recently or there’s been a load released recently?

I'm currently watching The Office (US), which I'd never really seen before.

It is very good fun, though I would make the point that even silly comedy should retain some sense of realism to be truly funny, and it's even less believable that Steve Carell's character would keep his job for more than a few weeks, than it was for Ricky Gervais.

That aside, enjoying it very much thumbup

If that Fiona women didn't do all the stuff netflix said she did as true, should they be held accountable?

we came to this conclusion - the US version can just go way OTT, they dont do much subtlety like the UK version, which Ricky and others played to perfection..

The US version for us only really got going around mid/end S2, and then we started enjoying it more.

I've just started S3. Good to hear.

I agree the US version is a bit bonkers. I ended up preferring it because I got more invested in the characters. I laughed a lot at the British version but the US series is warmer.

Despite being an absolute tit of a character, it was much easier to be sympathetic to Michael Scott than David Brent - testament to the way Carell played it. I also preferred the Jim / Pam arc to the Tim / Dawn one. Gareth / Dwight probably on a par.

That's what she said.

I really liked the US version, it ends up in a very different place to the UK one but it's still brilliant.

The US Office ends up more of a comedy soap opera. Not a complaint, just a different thing to the UK one. I really enjoyed the US version.

It was great up to the wedding episode then it quickly went off a cliff and should have finished.

The UK version was paced perfectly and was just long enough. Probably in my top three television/films ever. EVER!

The best US version of The Office was Parks and Recreation.

Had similar thoughts - the UK version was I think 3 'seasons' vs the US's 8 and, despite only having just got to US S3, I was wondering at what point I might start to think that they've kicked the arse out of it.

US Office and Parks and Rec both awesome, both on the 'will rewatch every so often forever' list.

Got to the end of episode 6 of Bodkin last night, should finish the whole series tonight. Quite enjoying it, although it is a bit predictable, the nun character is good and the Seamus character is very likeable despite his past.

Interesting to see another Father Ted person in it too, Mrs Doyle playing a menacing character!

It rings a bell with an episode of black mirror, is it an expanded version of that or stand alone?
Pretty sure black mirror one was very similar.

I also really like The Office (US) but find Jim really smarmy and annoying.

Ed Healms is a fantastic comic actor, as good as Bryan Cranston IMO.

Netflix have announced they are making Happy Gilmore 2. Adam Sandler will be in it but nothing else known at the moment.

It will probably be terrible but I'll have to watch this one.
