Do Sandraiders organizers do something similar for cars? I loved the scenery but wouldn't dare to do it on a bike.

I continue to be impressed by Charlie's encyclopaedic knowledge of all the different bikes. They all look the same to me and I couldn't tell one from another.

My friends have just done a long weekend in Bulgaria, they had 1000cc buggies and they said it was about 100k’s per day, as fast as they wanted to go, all off road with really good guides, all food and accommodations included, it was under £1500.

Any more details?

Never ridden a motorbike, but still find it fascinating to watch.

Seems like Harry's videos have helped make the event very popular?

I am not a motorcyclist but I love the adventure of Sand Raiders.

I've no idea how much it costs but the organisation seems a little off this year - maybe it's no different to previous years but I picked up on the lack of adequate fuel stops, food and sleeping arrangements. Sure, if that's what is to be expected then it's fine but I never noticed it in previous videos Harry produced.

Motorbikes aren’t my thing also, but did enjoy Sandraiders videos,
One question? Why do some riders stand up and some ride seated?

It'll most likely be the terrain they're experiencing at the time. On a descent that's technical you'll generally want to be standing, for example. Same with mountain biking.

I grew up reading about and idolising the privateers in the real Dakar. They were legends, including atleast 1 woman. Following paper notes in an actual race down Africa for 100's of kms a day.

Sandraiders looks like a fun holiday in comparison. I'd still love to have a go.

Very uneven terrain requires standing for balance and control

Slightly uneven stuff can be handled sitting down.

I think it's also a bit of personal preference - the clip at about 44:30 has Charlie (I'm assuming, the rider ahead anyway) stood up but Harry is sat down for parts of it. I guess that's also a bit of man in his 20s vs man in his 60s though! As a road rider I only stand up for speed bumps.

Pick your poison. You can do it in a Bowler and other modern Race offroaders. There is a Renault R4 version and its more modern equivalent the Twing Raid, where you have to do it in a Twingo.

Even if you don't want to race in Morocco, its only a ferry from Spain.

Seeing that Fulvia Zagato with its nose sticking out into the rain did have me wondering if there'll be rust bubbles forming today. hehe
