45th President Of The United States, Donald Trump (Vol. 14)
Discussion
trump tried another Hail Mary again yesterday to get Merchan to delay the latest fraud trial to get Merchan to recuse himself, which Judge Mercahn again refused. Thats the third attempt, last August, beginning of the month and now yesterday.
trump sought a delay because Merchan refused to recuse, because he couldn't invoke an immunity defense and because the judge made his team file motions with a delay to allow for redactions.
Denied.

trump has lost more lawyers
The firm LaRocca, Hornik, Greenberg, Rosen, Kittridge, Carlin and McPartland on Friday requested to remove itself from a lawsuit filed by a campaign surrogate who said the campaign sidelined her in 2016 after she revealed she was pregnant.
Its been a long running case and the lawyers wish to withdraw due to “irreparable breakdown in the attorney-client relationship,” and comes just just two days after the same federal court had ordered the campaign to turn over in discovery all complaints of sexual harassment and gender or pregnancy discrimination from the 2016 and 2020 campaigns. trumps campaign have refused to hand it over so far

Discussion on yesterdays testimony from Keith Davidson, the lawyer who negotiated the catch and kill deals National Enquirer for clients Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal.
Remember Friday, defence had tried to claim that lawyers and the FEC had signed off on paying McDougal and the doorman, but in cross examination agreed Pecker hadn't told them the whole story, that it looked just like an employment contract, and he hadn't said it was part of the campaign efforts to help trump.
He admitetd he hadn't told them he was manufacturing dirt on trumps opponents, stopping bad stories about trump etc.
When it came to paying Stormy he refused after checking with lawyers. At that point he knew he was breakign the camapign finance laws, which is why Cohen had to morgage his hime and route it through the new company created just for that purpose.
MSNBC host Chris Hayes and guest Lisa Rubin on it

Why trump needed to hush people
Evidence entered relating to Davidsons testimony
On Oct. 9, 2016, Davidson told Howard that the Stormy Daniels story was "already out there."
Howard: "Yeah but her talking and taking [REDACTED] is the final nail in the coffin... but he's fked already."

(can't show the pic as it breaks PH rules about swearwords...)
Text messages show Dylan Howard passing Davidson off to Michael Cohen for the Daniels deal.
Asked if it was "unusual" for Howard to connect him with someone outside of AMI to purchase a story, Davidson replies that this was the only time that happened.
Davidson said that AMI "washed their hands" of the deal.
So he said "Michael Cohen stepped into AMI's shoes."
Also David Dennison. the fake name used for trump in the payment, was the name of a player on Davidsons high school hockey team, who apparently wasn't happy about his name eing used in that way
Quite a lot more testimony, how Cohen tried to stall payment, how Davidson thought the money was coming from trump, hence the delay because trump didn't want to pay until after the election, which if he lsot he wouldn't hve to pay.
In the end Cohen paid because Stormy was pulling out and was going to tell her story. Even then they recognised trump was skint!
When trump won, Davidson asked Dylan Howard: "What have we done?", Howard replied: "Oh my god."

Edit: and an admission from Davidson that even after Cohen said he’d just pay Stormy himself, Davidson understood Trump or a Trump company would foot the bill.

Jeffrey Clark faces debarment.
The District of Columbia’s Office of Disciplinary Counsel issued a recommendation this week saying Clark’s “dishonest attempt to create national chaos” in the run-up to Jan. 6 meant the only suitable sanction would be disbarment because, put simply, nothing else would do.
