All Tory supporters I urge you to hold firm take a deep breath.
Backbone in the face of adversity is whats needed now. The election is still wide open and it's quite probable that Rishi may pull off the most incredible result ever.
On the other hand he may not so stock up on tins and buy gold just in case
How on earth can there possibly be any tory supporters left??Backbone in the face of adversity is whats needed now. The election is still wide open and it's quite probable that Rishi may pull off the most incredible result ever.

Constant betrayal, disrespect and abuse at every turn. An utter disregard for their citizens and the country.
How could anyone want more of that?!?
They could have an abuse fetish I suppose...
Racism confuses me. You think the torys are racist?! I'd say the racists are probably as dissatisfied with these morons as everyone else!
Even the racists have given up and gone to reform.
Classism, there is a great deal of it left. It’s upper middle class (those with land and SME businesses) and generally middle class retirees vs unskilled and those in poverty, with professionals, lower middle class and working class stuck in the middle being fked from both ends.

It's going to be a good day for Rishi
There will be no more resignations or crossing the floor shenanigans.
People will wake up and realise we are out of recession and that despite it looking like prices have increased dramatically that's only because they are buying the wrong things. A bag of sugar may have gone up from 59p to £1.09p but you only notice that if you buy it.

You can roll your eyes all you like Rufus but that's exactly what happened.
Their biggest donor was reported as saying Dianne Abbott made him "just want to hate all black women" and "I think she should be shot".
Sunak's first instinct was to send people out to insist this wasn't racist simply "wrong".

I was commenting on Dagnir seeming shocked that people might think that the Conservatives appear just a tiny little bit racist.
You can roll your eyes and say "let it go" all you like.
Doesn't change the facts around how the leader of the party and the man in charge of the country has behaved very recently.

Particularly when 'facts' involve perceptions and assumptions within the dim glow of baseless moral superiority which has a tedious habit of being there in smears and more blatant hater hyperbole. You can roll your eyes and say "let it go" all you like.

And then he said it had nothing to do with her race or gender, despite specifically mentioning her race and gender. Not for the first time...

Er Electro, it’s those running/owning SMEs who have taken the hardest, biggest, most brutal financial whacking under the govt since Rishi entered Downing Street. Why in the name of hell do you think so many of said businessmen fking loath the bloke???!Classism, there is a great deal of it left. It’s upper middle class (those with land and SME businesses) and generally middle class retirees vs unskilled and those in poverty, with professionals, lower middle class and working class stuck in the middle being fked from both ends.
The middle classes of ALL stripes have been ruthlessly targeted by the govt yr on yr. The money taken out of the middle classes has been what has funded the tax breaks/easing on those in the lowest financial brackets.
Now, back when Rishi went money hunting to pay for Covid, I actually defended him, on the grounds that the country had a HUGE bill to pay coming to it and that, like it or not, we - the upper’ish progrssional middle classes - were the only ones who realistically had the money to pay it. And we have been. The country protected those most financially vulnerable during that extreme time, but now that bill has to be paid.
Very few are “winners” under Rishi in Downing St. and my tax bills are many thousands of pounds higher under him, but I have to acknowledge a necessity of reality.
This will also what constrains SKS in his initial spending btw. The middle classes haven’t got much more to give currently.

Yeah, it's really not clear what he was implying by saying what he did. But he was definitely not racist. bhstewie said:
The Prime Minister sent his ministers out to tell the public that Frank Hesters comments weren't racist.
But no there's definitely not even a hint of racism in the Conservative Party.
I'm assuming you dont mean against white people; DEI, race quotas, postive discrimination, useless white man etc...?But no there's definitely not even a hint of racism in the Conservative Party.
Now before you jump on me, remember I loathe Rishi and his government, so if you want to give me evidence of other racism, I'll happily add it to the list of reasons I hate them!

Saying I think she should be shot is simply an expression of hate/frustration and nothing to do with racism.Their biggest donor was reported as saying Dianne Abbott made him "just want to hate all black women" and "I think she should be shot".

The way I interpreted his other words were that he was trying to say that he hates her so much that she almost gives him an irrational hate of all back people.
Now yes, I accept that that can very easily be seen in other ways but I think he was attempting to acknowledge that she's so unbelievably irritating (probably something a lot of us can agree on!) that she makes him want to take an irrational (and racist) opinion.....but not that he actually held that position.
Noted that is a very niche explanation but I hope the nuance has come through.
If that wasn't what he was trying to express, then throw him to the pigs along with Rishi!

I'm sure he'll start next week buoyant with news of a defection to the Conservatives...There will be no more resignations or crossing the floor shenanigans.

The "levelling up minister" seems happy about this...

Note: the lady in question was an "independent" with the "Morley Borough Independents". A small and successful local council group that hold the majority of seats on the local council as well as several with Leeds City Council.
A few of their councillors stood as different "independents" at the recent election and failed miserably, as did the Conservatives, but there seems to be trouble within. They're an odd bunch, very much Conservatives or in some cases former Labour councillors that were thrown out for being dodgy.
Hilarious that this move is considered a win though.

It’s like trying not to be racist but you see Diane Abbott on the TV, and you’re just like I hate, you just want to hate all black women because she’s there, and I don’t hate all black women at all, but I think she should be shot.
[The executive] and Diane Abbott need to be shot. She’s stupid … If we can get [the executive] being unprofessional we can get her sacked. It’s not as good as her dying. It would be much better if she died. She’s consuming resource. She’s eating food that other people could eat. You know?”

Not sure if I had seen the full transcript written as such but it certainly supports my position and undermines the media narrative....shockingly!
Stewie - I assume you hadn't read the whole thing either...any comment?
Does the full context chnage your views at all, or can't you get past the fact that a tory mentioned race?
