Russia Invades Ukraine. Volume 4

Aren’t they making progress though? Second front not good for Ukraine
They are walking (literally) towards the defensive lines. The wiggly line that is the border does not make a good defensive line so the UA has prepared positions some way from the border. Those poor conscripts walking in "clusters" (double meaning deliberate) along a trail in that Tweet clip might as well paint a bullseye on their helmets. sisu said:
Look how slow the drone is and this sort of plane shows up on Radar like a beacon because...you sort of want to be noticed when flying a Cessna cub. Even if its flying under the radar, you can see it and hear it like a plane flying in daylight over your house. This cruises at 120kph, lands at 80kph which this is doing whilst on video.
Understand that unlike Matius Rust who landed in Red Square in 1987, Russia is at war. Given the catalogue of options that were paraded in Red Square on Thursday. Think of all the things that should have shot this down over the 1400km it travelled at the speed of a Lada across mother russia. This is not a V1 travelling at 380mph, but one of the slowest, most basic planes about.
The V1s looked and sounded like nothing the allies operated, so were easily identified as enemy weapons. Russia has, or certainly had, a good number of microlights being operated by its own citizens. If one flew over would anyone know for certain it was a Ukrainian weapon and not Comrade Boris out for a jolly? Understand that unlike Matius Rust who landed in Red Square in 1987, Russia is at war. Russia are still making progress in the Avdiivka area, as always casualty numbers are high on both sides but as usual it's people in Russian uniforms that are suffering the most.
Unfortunately it doesn't mean they are always Russian casualties.
HIMARS target a hotel in Donetsk where preparations were being made to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the DPR. Looks to be a successful strike.

Or possibly even bathrooms if he also owns a small suitcase..

Shoigu must surely go down in history as the worst defence minister of all time, overseeing the destruction of the best 50% of Russia's conventional forces 2 years into a 3-day operation. However, Putin has always valued loyalty more than competency.

Shoigu is bum chums with Putin so he should be safe as long as Putin is in power.

Putin doesn't do chums, only enemies or potential enemies.Shoigu must surely go down in history as the worst defence minister of all time, overseeing the destruction of the best 50% of Russia's conventional forces 2 years into a 3-day operation. I think we are about to see a classic battle strategy unfold in Kharkiv.
You create a vacuum that the enemy rushes in to fill.
You then pound the crap out of them from all sides.
I fear that what we are about to see is what the Russians always do, get close enough to use artillery and then gradually pound the city to rubble. You create a vacuum that the enemy rushes in to fill.

A couple of tense videos I saw today, highlighting Russias main tactic of just shelling everything to pieces.
The 1st one in particular must have been terrifying.
