I can't see this happening in the USA.

Nicholas Cage would've swooped in and stolen it just before they got into the room.
OTOH the Nanas would have come through the ceiling on wires.

Vandalism is vandalism.
Aye, oil vandalism is awful.
Indeed, and yet here you are using your made from oil, and powered by fossil fuels computer, in a made using fossil fuels building, accessed by roads, made using fossil fuels and all the bicycles, buses, trains, cars trucks, ships, airliners. Doesn't that make you not only a vandal but also a hypocrite? However, apologies if you knitted all the above items, out of your own hair.

The JSO website says that what they want is: "that the UK government makes a statement that it will immediately halt all future licensing and consents for the exploration, development and production of fossil fuels in the UK.". It doesnt say we shouldn't use any oil. I guess it could be argued that current licences would have to be renewed at some point but I cant see any statements on that point. And perhaps like most people, I dont know anything about the licencing system anyway. By the way, I'm not a JSO supporter and dont like vandalism.

Just re-reading Pork's post, was it a witticism? (“oil" v "all").

This is what their tactics are leading to;

Good, sooner the better. There is a right to peaceful protest. Not a right to cause criminal damage, spread hate, cause misery to others etc.
Unfortunately, their unreasonable behaviour is leading to the government acquiring powers which could be abused. Not for the first time. They’ve given more reason to erode civil liberties than any other cause I can remember.
Agreed - I recall a post on here a few months back about JSO, and how the posters friend (A high up in a climate based pressure group of some kind) denounced their tactics and said the consensus within his field was JSO is a 'Captured organisation'.

Very specific term, and apparently meant that it was being used by outside powers to achieve some sort of ends.

Wouldnt surprise me at all!

And yet strangely their group name is just STOP oil. Could they be telling us all lies about their true intention?
It may be, that their true intention, is to smash a hole in the global population, without actually `saying' they want to reduce the global population. They don't seem to be comfortable with telling the truth, so who knows?
