All those poor MPs won't be able to retire to Brussels. That's about it as far as I can see.

There would be like this big massive war and stuff 'cause it keeps us safe.

Paddy Ashdown said so.

Maybe have a read through some opinion from a business perspective rather than DM bluster....

You are taking the piss, I hope.

The Economist is hardly a left-leaning publication - they're small-state liberal if you had to define the politics. Whigs rather than Tories, if you like, but comfortably within the modern definition of Censervative.

But that's exactly what it is, opinion. Lots of 'may' and 'might' and just as much bluster as the DM at its worse.

The politicians would scream and shout a lot, but everyday peeps and businesses would just carry on as normal.

I know who'd rather say has a better clue about the economic impacts, implications and barriers to future UK/EU trade agreements.

But if we negotiated our own trade agreements we might do more business with the EU just like non-members Norway and Switzerland who do more business with the EU than we do at the moment.

" A better clue" That's about as good as the pro camp ever gives. 6 months on certain points mention within those 2 links have become rather moot.

I suppose technically:

We could have massive trade tariffs imposed on our exports to the EU, but we could then in turn, impose massive import tariffs. Not sure either side would want this.

We would save our circa £7bn(?) contribution to the EU immediately and have no need for MEP's.

Duty free at ports would spring up again, exporting and importing would carry more paperwork.

We wouldn't have any friends and so we would lose all our influence and credibility too, apparently. And probably a bunch of other vague and ill defined stuff.

OP was asking "cons" of leaving the EU...so I provide links to articles saying what may happen. Didnt say I agree with them or support them.

However, application of EU regs for any business exporting to the EU haven't changed much IMO. Threat to UK finance sector still quite relevant. Probable trade tariffs for UK to EU exports hasn't changed. France/Germany having the hump with the UK wanting to dictate terms hasn't changed much.

Back to bad old British weather, no more pizzas or spaghetti just mashed potatoes. No more nice wine. We'd all have to go on holiday in Devon. And we'd have loads of global warming too. And no foreigners. Not even the nice ones with jobs and stuff.
