I bet it uses as much electricity as everything else in the house! Electricity bill will double, whatever the ad says..

i think it depends on how you use the lay-z-spa, I've also bought a proper one, haven't really got much data yet has only had it about a month, first impressions appear to be that the costs are about the same, however that's with just leaving the new one set at 38degrees 24/7, i was quite religious with the lay-z-spa around optmising turning it down, even off when not in use. I think that if you run the lay-z-spa at temp all the time then a proper tub would cost you less to run, though its gonna take a while to recoup the initial uplift in outlay! (and i bought a "cheap" one too!)

My arctic spa costs about 50p-75p per day to run. I use it 5/6 times a week mostly after sports and its worth every penny twice over. They aren't expensive to run at all in my view.

I imagine it's going to be the water bill that goes sky high with it on that angle

We bought a LazySpa Helsinki this year so this is our first winter with it.

I'm happy to put the pump away and drain the water, but packing away the 'pool' bit is going to be hassle. Would I be ok leaving it up and empty?

God they’re awful, so tacky, should be in the council thread

Cedar soaking tubs here, much more peaceful, natural timber which is far nicer to sit against and the cedar smell is always there.

They are the entry point into hot tubs and a good way of seeing if they actually get any use. We had a Vegas before I made my own sunken tub with ASHP.

Better to spend £500 and barely use it than £5K.

That’s true of the lay z spa and a good point but the plastic tubs above ground like pictured? eek each to their own I guess..

Even in Cedar I sunk ours into the decking to loose some of its dominance.

I did use the Lay z spa heater/filter To heat ours originally but they were incredibly unreliable and the std system needed resetting every 24hrs, now use separate heater, filter & bromine delivery system.

I agree completely!
We went with a bargain Aldi tub (Quarantine Tubatino!), had a bit of early trouble with foaming but have the balances under control now (granules worked better than the supplied tablets!), & I think they are a GREAT way to try these out without breaking the bank!
TBH, our property outlook doesn't have views to really warrant a 'proper' tub. I'm sure a cedar tub would be a delight, but Tubatino will do for us!

I have a Lazy Spa Vegas . Use it w/e only .
Just fill it up with hot water direct from combo gas boiler. ( hose pipe and adapters) .
Costs about £1 in gas v £5 in electricity if you cold fill and use the pump heater. Use twice and drain , to water garden.

Just managed to get my new hawaii setup at the weekend due to waiting on a wooden outhouse being built

I dont know if i'm being paranoid but it seems to be losing air. Topped it up twice since the weekend. No visible leaks.

I chucked my old one due to leaking air

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Just got a smart meter fitted and the hot tub with my workstation on during the day is costing 11p way cheaper than the lazy spa.

We use ours all year round, being in the bathroom where there is central heating and heated floors really helps.
