Airports with convenient rail links

Did Berlin last year and has an incredible public transport system, berlin brandenburg has a train station(ubahn/sbahn) and just get on the one that heads in the right direction and get off at the closest stop to your hotel, we stayed in friedrichschain and had 2 stations either side of the hotel and just walked from either one.ostbanhof and warschauer straße in our case.
Just got back from vienna and is the same transport system although they have CAT, the city airport train. 1 direct train to the city centre and back. In both cities the rome 2 rio website works wonders. In vienna we did get public transport to and from the main station but as berlin, its a doddle.
Did rome last year too and you can get a train from the main termini to fiumicino airport, iirc i used the same website for travel on the metro. Wewalked from the main termini to our hotel, onlyreally usedthe metro to go to the colosseum.
Did krakow the other month, gor a rather cheap uber between 4 of us to our hotel and walked everywhere... barring auschwitz, the coach took us.
Thats the extent of my city break knowledge

Lovely isnt it, the missus said it was one of her favourites, we said also about doing another city in poland and youre right, unbelievable isnt it, i cant remember the price but the stand outside of KRK wanted silly money for the journey in comparison.
BACK ON TOPIC.
OP likes the thought of germany, berlin is full of things to visit.
2 zoos, checkpoint charlie, alexanderplatz/tv tower, world clock, reichstag(book in advance), tiergarten,East side gallery, murdered jews memorial, topography of terror.
The transport is unbelievably easy, go on the rome to rio site and you cant go wrong, once youre more familiar with the system and stations you can just use it as a timetable and if you do get off at the wrong one/miss it it wont be the biggest PITA either.
Berlin does sound well worth further investigationBACK ON TOPIC.

Not quite a city but we're currently in Ibiza, and it took us a grand total of a minute after leaving the airport to get our transfer to the hotel. It would usually involve that awful Jess Glynn song but as it was operated by a partner they didn't have the MP3 queued up so it was a reasonably comfortable flight.

Edinburgh, the tram actually works not bad for this purpose.
But flights to Edinburgh (from the south coast) can be more than getting to Europe. If I want cheap flights I have to avoid my local airport and travel to Gatwick which at that point so much choice. I do go to Edinburgh at least once a year but drive as the cost is no different to flying when there’s 2 or more and you have more luggage. Also the tram into Leith gets stuck in traffic so is quicker walking.

Last time I looked on Skyscanner flights from Stanstead to Edinburgh were £44 so it would be rude not to do it sometime!

driving up to Scotland in July so probably give it a miss in October but it's one of our favourite places as a family.

That price is great until you want to take a carry-on and it jumps up but if doing an overnighter it’s fine. Last time I looked on Skyscanner flights from Stanstead to Edinburgh were £44 so it would be rude not to do it sometime!

Does Luton count now the DART is up and running?
The DART is on my to do list actually, just haven't got round to it yet! Spent a few years happily living near Luton Airport, though not one of my preferred airports, personally.Shiv_P said:

Haven't been to the Parkway station since the DART was built though.
Anyway...thanks for the suggestions.
