Everything is pointing at that amber warning switching up to red. Last time this happened was Storm Frank in 2015 and we had static caravans taking off down the Dee…

MetOffice have upgraded the wind warning to amber too, along that Scottish Coast.
This is beginning to look very nasty, indeed.
Fair play to the MetOffice - they warned early and warned well. People will still be caught out by it...
I was just chatting to someone up that way. He said the schools have already announced they are closing for two days and people certainly seem to be preparing. He was getting wood and candles/torches in as power-cuts are likely. There will always be some people who dont get the message - I said to my wife it was going to be raininy for the next few days as there was a big storm coming and she knew nothing about it. To be fair we are not in the amber or red area and it wont be too bad for usThis is beginning to look very nasty, indeed.

I was lucky enough to see an intercity going through.

We're in the middle of a forest halfway up a hillside in Aberdeenshire so definitely keeping an eye on the forecast.
Indoors - we have woodburners, candles, hurricane lamps, head torches in daily use anyway so fairly well prepared. Dewalt USB battery adaptor is handy for topping up phones but can use the car if we really need to.
Outside - cleaned out some backup drainage ditches around the house this morning, filled the pickup with diesel and bought a few gallons of fresh petrol in case I need to do any chainsawing once everything calms down. Will park the cars out in the open away from trees just to be sure.

Yup, just spent lunch time doing a wee bit of prep too. Anything remotely moveable into the garages. Cars garaged or moved. Torches on charge, stocks of candles and wood nearby. A little worried about the trees right around us as 6 acres on our back border has just been clear felled two weeks back and now unsure of what shelter they gave.
But, more worried for the folks on the riversides or lower ground. The Dee is gonna rise quite a bit.
