Don't bother with the "I had chicken for dinner" or random picture posts - once, way back in the mists of time, they were amusing. Not any more. You just look like a cock.
Amazing photo IMHO, thanks for sharing.

I buy it - you can actually see a small chunk of the pellet that's been taken off by the back part of the blade.
And no-one said rifle, the OP and thread title clearly say pistol...
Oops. I got it wrong, it is actually an air rifle. In the other photos that people have linked to he mentions that the pellet is travelling at 500 fps and that he uses a 1 micro second flash. And no-one said rifle, the OP and thread title clearly say pistol...
Aye, anyone interested will go and have a look, I see hundreds of threads on here of which I have no interest, and don't have any compulsion to comment saying I'm not interested...
Anyway... High speed photography is something I've always been fascinated with, and knowing a bit about how you go about it, I can really appreciate it when someone comes up with results as good as these pictures are. Someone beat me to posting the glass bauble filled with water, which is a fantastic photo, but I really like this one as well..
The amount of planning, preparation and setup time are waaay more than you would think!
Cheers to the OP for bringing these to our attention!!

If its real its very impressive, much more so than the usual high speed photo's of a water balloon being pierced.
Why is it much more impressive?Surely both are just a case of set up high speed camera----> pull trigger.
