Just to say after nearly 4 years of joyous ownership my Cayman R is about to go on sale, I have bought an air cooled 911 and I need the space in my garage.
61 plate car, manual, carbon buckets, sport chrono, PSE, Spyder (spider?) wheels in black, car is carrera white. All the right options except no air con and only 26k miles full Porsche OPC history. Available with a Porsche warranty until November 24 that could be extended another 12 months if buyer wants that.
Will be realistically priced, PM me if interested and I can provide some pics and discuss a price.

Popping up to say hello. Just over a year of CR ownership and I love it even more now than when I got the car. I have put Ohlins R&T on it and it enhances the inherent characteristics of the car and takes it to an even higher level. They are so suited to the chassis.
Off to Harewood Hillclimb a week on Saturday, a few more Caymans in the class than usual (one is a 718 GTS with nearly 500bhp). So much fun even if I am unlikely to win anything.

Lovely.It is quite unusual to see an owner replace the standard springs/shocks as they are already one of the differentiators of the car vs standard Caymans but interesting to hear your feedback on the upgrade.

I've had those fitted too. I wanted tyres that are a good compromise for road and track (like the Michelin super sports used to be). So far the Bridgestones feel very grippy on the the road. Hopefully will see what they're like on track later this year. Only one proper drive on them so far but initial impressions are good. When it got a bit wet (I missed the shower but the road was very wet) they seemed very grippy, though after the last tyres I still need to find some trust in the car in the wet again. I am aware of a few CRs with Ohlins. The standard car is good, with Ohlins it is exceptional. I have never felt so confident in a car on track than I do with the Ohlins on the CR. The change from the Cayman S to Cayman R is the lowered springs with a small increase in spring rate (over non-PASM springs). I am not sure the differential is that great.

My car runs 2 degrees or camber all round and whilst it will still wear the outer edges, on decent tyres it is pretty good from a wear perspective.

A Cayman R? I was led to believe about -1.2 was the max camber you could get on the fronts without changing components. Is your car modified? IIRC some GT3 suspension bits can give you more camber.PaulD86 said:

Sorry, yes, it is modified. I have had Powerflex camber bushes on the car since about 2020. They provide another 0.5-0.75 degrees of camber and I had it setup by Centre Gravity for my then intended use of mainly track daysEdited by LennyM1984 on Tuesday 7th May 08:10
