Out every day !
I did 14000 miles in my Cali last year. I've already done 3500 in my FF, since September 2nd. Modern Ferrari's are designed to be used. So, my advice is: If you've got one - use it !
And there I was thinking Ferraris where only allowed to do a maximum of 1500 per year... You make me feel bad for only doing 6000 miles.... I did 14000 miles in my Cali last year. I've got nothing in principle about taking the 550 out in winter. As far as salt goes, I do try and make sure that it's been washed away before I go out, but only because the car is a bit of a minter and a certain age already i.e. more condition sensitive than miles sensitive. If I was in a 599 or similar I wouldn't give a toss about the salt, chances are I'd have sold it long before it became a corrosion issue and I'd be taking it the nuts on depreciation far more due to the mileage I'd done come resale time than any notions of "excessive corrosion" due to driving in the winter.
The only other reason why I don't happen to drive the Ferrari a lot in winter when its wet is that I don't put winter rubber on it - in something like a 355 it's not the end of the world as there wasn't an abundance of torque, however in the 550, you're constantly having the TC cutting in/the rears spinning up meaning you have to take it very easy. Not the end of the world but it does sort of defy the point of going out for a drive!
That said, we did take it 6 miles to Kew Gardens at an average of 9 mph the other day.... .....

I took my poor mans ferrari 308 gt4 out on a damp january night last week , its 38 years old & still has not disolved ! joking aside a guy had the balls to sort a car meet out so i took the old bus for a run out, my experience is cars like to be used, washed it down & leathered it off when i got home , cars are for driving right ?
My 640's been tucked up since its service and hasn't been touched for a few months....just occasionally staring at it ..lol it will be a few more months for me.
If every time I take it out I have to clean it... takes the edge of it whilst the roads are this muggy, and that's not forgetting potholes.
Have fun though
