There was a guy on Reddit who has bought one, he's not happy. I wonder if he might get some sort of gesture of goodwill from MG.
They'll probably offer to sell him another for £1 if they have any left to unload.. I don't think this is a money making exercise for them anymore..Quick first thoughts, as “Max” as the kids have christened him arrived on Thursday.
Interior - Overall better than expected. Seats are pretty comfortable, materials are on the rugged side, but clearly built to last. CarPlay took a little while to get going as had to switch off Bluetooth for it to register - this is a must as the standard menus are poor. Plenty of space in the back.
Driving - Car feels fairly swift up to about 40 and then tails off (the 50 to 70 takes a while, but coming from a Tesla probably not the best judge!). The driving modes only seem to change the throttle response from first impressions - eco is hard work, so stick to normal or power. The suspension is a little crashy on poor surfaces and above 60 - probably benefit from a load in the back to settle it down TBH. Steering is very light but useful when manoeuvring etc.
Odd Things - The air con kills the range and hilariously the range moves dramatically when you change the temperature above 25 (temperature seems to be 5 degrees below what the menu states). Does seem to either blow cold or very hot so still working that out! The acoustic warning isn’t as loud as I would have thought, although yet to be stuck in an hours tailback.
Overall, actually quite impressed after reading so many negative reviews. I kept my expectations on the low side.

Unplug it.......poppers under the bonnet at the front, lift very thin plastic up, unplug speaker. 5 mins tops and can be done by hand. And while there giggle at the bonnet lever which is comically made from what appears to be a tin foil like substance almost like a metal.....
Yeah, done mine today. Makes it a much nicer drive without that irritating whine every time you drop below 20mph. Despite my initial worries about receiving it, I’m actually really liking it. Yes it’s cheap and cheerful but I’ve already used it to shift some 2.4m plyboard and bags of sand today. If the weather holds up I’m going to try to make some sort of load cover tomorrow for two reasons really, 1) to stop anything in the rear tub getting soaked if it’s raining and 2) hoping a bit more weight in the back will settle the ride down a bit.

I don’t really understand the obsession with the pedestrian warning sound - yeah it’s a little louder and weirder than some other EVs but unplugging it seems pretty stupid.
I disagree here mate, it’s far too loud. We have an iPace which is silent, I wouldn’t be adverse to an exterior sound but that sound (with presumably minimal sound insulation under the bonnet) goes right through me. I’ve never come even close to someone not noticing me in the iPace with no external sound, so I have no issues with disconnecting this one.Richtea1970 said:

I wonder if they actually sold any at full price - an expensive few years coming up!

Yeah, don’t get me wrong I’d never have bought at £50k, I think 1 person has come forward to admit they bought one at full price, so either they only sold one or others are just to embarrassed to admit buying one at full price.I wonder if they actually sold any at full price - an expensive few years coming up!
But at £100 a month an absolute bargain of the kind that rarely come along any more.

I regret not having jumped onto one at £100 a month on a 1+12. I think they were available at that price for about a day, and I was looking at them on the day in question. What put me off was another £100 a month for insurance. As a toy? Would have been entertaining, and likely the impetus to spend summer 2014 doing our garden renovation project. Ah well. But at £100 a month an absolute bargain of the kind that rarely come along any more.

I put a few layers of duct tape across mine which makes it a lot more palatable without risking any error messages👍Mikebentley said:

Having driven it quite a bit over the last few days I really can’t see what all the fuss is about. In a similar vain, the pedestrian warning sound I could not be doing with, it was terrible, went right through me. But others say it doesn’t bother them, so again personal taste.

Whilst it was a comedy typo, I think if a T90 got to 88mph you would see some serious st! Toaster Pilot’s video is practically unwatchable on the driving sections as the camera shakes so badly. Which in a way is all the review you need of how bad the ride is! ??
In fairness, my camera’s image stabilisation was turned off because I’ve got all the gear and no idea JustGetATesla said:

I think, as above, you should see it as a commercial vehicle.Someone who does gardening/window cleaning/...
I've driven plenty of vans and nearly none of them drive properly or anything remotely acceptable for a car. Yet there are millions of them on the road, doing their thing.

I know - and the new video is much better. I just thought it enhanced the original review - a boneshaking ride so bad that it broke the camera! Was behind a brand new one yesterday up here, on an NV73 plate as they all see to be. Someone who managed to bag one whilst I prevaricated. Booooo
