Always wondered about this, why are the charging spaces wider than the plebs' spaces?
Maybe so the doors don't touch when you get out, because that would start a cross-vehicle current flow, and both cars would instantly burn up?
I honestly can't identify if these posts are stupidity or satireMaybe so the doors don't touch when you get out, because that would start a cross-vehicle current flow, and both cars would instantly burn up?
The first part was a genuine question.
The second part was a joke (obviously).

I would have thought the fact that you have to plug something into the side of the vehicle with a big thick dangly trip hazard might have been a bit self evidentThe first part was a genuine question.
The second part was a joke (obviously).

Interestingly I kind of didn’t feel that much love for my BMW i3S until it came to service time and BMW gave me a MY24 118i M Sport thing with DCT gearbox and all the tech. The 118i was a good car with good tech and all that but dynamically it was miles off the i3.
I didn’t expect to be looking forward to getting back into the i3, a 10 year old design. Perhaps it was ahead of its time.
I think it's widely accepted that the current 1 series is a pile of toss.I didn’t expect to be looking forward to getting back into the i3, a 10 year old design. Perhaps it was ahead of its time.

I heard something similar recently…I didn’t expect to be looking forward to getting back into the i3, a 10 year old design. Perhaps it was ahead of its time.

Every day I walk out of my house with the keys to a 911 and an EV6 GT in my bag.
95% of the time I get in the EV6 GT as it’s just better for most occasions.
That really brought it home to me how much of an advance EVs are.
That's more about the KIA being a better daily driver. More comfy, higher seating for visibility, more practical, less worry about dings from parking etc.95% of the time I get in the EV6 GT as it’s just better for most occasions.

I have a Mk3 TT and a BMW 120d. I pick the BMW 95% of the time. The TT is much nicer to drive but the BMW is better overall to just travel about in.
A more telling comparison would be a Taycan and a Panamera.

I think the current 1-series is an excellent car for its underpinnings and intended use.
The 6-pot in the old ones were far better though but chassis not particularly good.
I’m not sure. It felt detached; the steering, throttle, brakes. It was a weird feeling especially the light steering feel - too sharp, dead at the centre. Weird. The i3 has much better steering feel and linearity of inputs. The 6-pot in the old ones were far better though but chassis not particularly good.
The version of IDrive was good - Harmon Kardon, but it was confusing and not intuitive given that I’ve had a version for at least the last 4 years.
My point is that the EV is almost like white goods - they’re so good that you don’t notice it until you’re driving something similar with ICE. Like for like the EV is much better, or at least my I3s was compared to the ICE BMW hatch.
Genuine question, with the Ford Fiesta and Ford Focus now history, does ANYONE produce an ICE hatch with decent control weights, steering, ride, handling? I can't think of a single bread and butter hatch that delivers, as, say the old bread and butter 306s and Mk1 Focus' did back in the day....is the Golf the best of a bad bunch?

I'm hoping these things will eventually put the value of my 5 litre V8 F Type Jag up as they are stopping making them. People are already saying on the F Type forums they plan to buy a new one and put it in to storage as an investment.
how exciting.greenarrow said:
