Unfortunately, I've been away from a computer for a while and I missed "Friday Budget day"

Could I slip this quite fetching, non diesel, squashed E class in as a late entry?

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/285842603333?itmmeta=01...

Edited to add, just spotted this from the same vendor. Tempting.

For me, the equation of Alex+Small Barge+Lexus = IS Sportscross. Good luck finding one, though!

Slippeth away good Sir.

I bet that colour combo order sheet raised an eyebrow or 2 in the back office in 2007.

That has some presence. Traces of marmite, but definitely has presence.

CLS prices are all over the place at the moment it seems .... trudging through the tat on autotrader can reveal some lovely nuggets like the one i posted a while back with lovely 2 tone interior..... but theres a lot of trudging to do...A LOT.

If anyone is in the market for a CLS I have a decent lead on a CLS350d Grand Edition (270bhp rather than 220bhp) with FMDSH, 125k on the clock.

This from lexusownersclub.co.uk re 2 WD v 4WD on the Sportcross -
“There was a JDM 4x4 version but it was not officially imported to the UK, although have seen a few grey imports. It would be a Toyota Altezza Gita.“

I think you'll need to define "a bit smaller". What other car's exterior dimensions do you want it to be similar to? Mondeo? Focus? Fiesta?

If it helps, RWD barges usually have a surprisingly good steering lock so will be as manoeuvrable in a car park as a FWD hatch a size smaller. My E-Class was great for parallel parking compared to a Mondeo, Passat or Vectra.
5-series, E-class, S-Type or smaller is where I'm thinking.

Interesting point.
Ha, glad I asked as those are most people's idea of a very big car.

Proper bargista, well done that man!

I ended up buying this:

So far so good. Full Lexus main dealer history up until 2020 then indie thereafter.

Not so much 'bought' as 'stole'! Proper bargain, nice work.

What kind of mileage at that excellent bargain price? Were you lucky enough to be reasonably local ?

Wow, that was cheap.

This is cheap, and has the best advent I've ever tried to read.

This, presuming the reduced power fault is easy enough to sort, is a bargain. I'd imagine it's an electrical problem. Over the weekend our 335i had an electrical wobbly, windows not lowering, indicators not working, AND intermittent reduced power mode.

We paid £8k for our 335i m-sport, with niggles, and more miles. Sort out the limp home mode and it's easy a £5-6k car. I'll see what's said with ours later this week, and thinking of taking a punt to flip it after an alloy refurb/ badges replaced/ deep detail etc to smarten it up. Rare and likeable leather shade and desirable adaptive headlights too.

They said they took it in as part-ex and it just isn't the type of car they'd put on the forecourt, think they like their 2015 onwards type cars.

It has 165,000 miles, full main dealer history until 2020 and 2 keys. A few recent bills too.

It has a suspension knock/creak/popping wen I slowly turn left or go over a bump, I'm suspecting control arms which is pricey on these and I reckon anyone retailing it this cost would eat in to their margin.

The front parking sensors don't work as the front badge has a crack in it which is meaning the radar at the front isn't happy.

So I've ordered a new grill off eBay for £200, did a full valet at £120 and let's say £1,500 for the control arms.

I'm also planning to install Apple Carplay for £450
