You can retrofit the 3-phase charger but it’s not considered ‘cost effective’ to do so. This is the workshop procedure which takes 6.4 hours.
I'm about to take the plunge. However whilst the car has 22kw charging it doesn't have the 150kW DC on-board booster. Do you know if this can be retro fitted please?

3 different charge places to get a charger that actually worked or didn't have 10 cars waiting in line for their turn? Quite impressive, but how come the new Macan E does over 100 miles less?

Shame, it looks great, and sure with the 105kw battery and rwd you would very rarely need to charge away from home. But with half of households not having anywhere to charge at home, they need to get the infrastructure right for on street charging etc.
I would buy one tomorrow if they did.
I was amazed the charging prices yesterday though when i had a look, first time I looked, it was 77p a kw to tap and pay or 72p if you had an account, is that normal?
I thought it might be 45p or so, but 77p sounded ridiculous.
£60 for 225 miles or so doing 3 miles per kw?
I see that Taycan was doing 5 miles per kw, that is impressive. Now all down to the governments to show how 'green' they really want to be.
Problem I see going forward is many of the corporates, like Blackrock, who were pushing for EV for being green, and hence governments pushing EVs, are now slowly changing their tune and pushing it as a huge potential to make serious money, and that might slow down governments from throwing the billions needed into the EV infrastructure. They won't be so keen if they are not showing everyone how virtuous they are.
So, as EVs get to the point where many need them to be range wise, we are no where near infrastructure wise, and not sure we ever will be.
That all sounds a bit negative, but it is not, it is frustration because I would really like one and can't have one.

I charged yesterday at a hotel next to Excel and that was £.50p/kw. The parking was £10 for the 6 hours I was there and I spent £25 all in and left for home fully charged.
Excel want nearly £30 parking for the day and you can't charge your car.................they don't have any chargers, they removed them all!
Iirc that one's a trickier retrofit, but also isn't it intended for use with Tesla chargers?
If so, personally I wouldn't bother. I don't charge on the go that often, but when I have the Tesla chargers have always been the ones that are busy/busiest.
Just use the other networks, ideally those with 350kW chargers. Have a mooch around Zapp Map for the routes you use most to see what the charging infrastructure's like.

Not a cost effective retrofit as you would need a new J1178 Power Contactor that already has the 400/800v boost circuitry fitted to it. The J1178 Power Contactor is not an end user or dealership serviceable item.I'm about to take the plunge. However whilst the car has 22kw charging it doesn't have the 150kW DC on-board booster. I have asked why my local major, who was also a green councillor previously, why they can't get Ionity or similar to put a few chargers on our local car parks, we have 2 quite big ones 150 cars and a smaller one, maybe 50 cars, which is only 250m from mine.
Having chargers on them would be great.
If the 3 big supermarkets also had a dozen or so chargers as well, it would change things considerably. Same across so many smaller towns around the UK.

Mate had a GT4 in GB, lovely colour. My only other choice was Volcano Grey.
