So sad and so young frown what terrible luck he seemed to have..

Condolences to his family and friends.

His 'waiting is the hardest bit' thread was an incredible read and so inspirational, it lead me to mention him in the 'who inspires you thread' which he then contacted me about with some lovely words of thanks.

Never met him but will never forget him, he touched so many people With his words, the sort of person that renewed your faith in humanity, why does this always happens to the people who least deserve it?

RIP Russel

So Sad, even though I had never met DMN, he was quite a prescence on here, I read about his health issues but was thinking he was on the mend but sadly not.

A couple of chaps died on Scoobynet, again, never met them but had an effect hearing of their passing, Tam the Bam and Andy The Jock, one minute you are bantering, arguing, trolling and debating and then they are gone, it is strange feeling, and you know there is a family suffering.

RIP Fella.

Very sorry to read this.

Far too young to go.

I suppose that it is the measure of the man that so many people who have never met him or would recognise him in the street feel his passing.

RIP Russell

The family aren't sure if they can face a wake, but some of us will be heading here afterwards - http://stanmerhouse.co.uk

There is nothing organised, it's just an informal gathering, but it would be nice to give them an idea of numbers

With that in mind...

Very sad indeed. I had no idea he had even had a heart attack, makes for painful reading looking at the thread now.

Is anyone heading down from the NW who'd be up for sharing the drive? I can't do a there/back quickly enough on my own.

There's a post from his wife on FB saying that only people she had personally contacted were welcome at the funeral, and that that would only be people who had attended their wedding - are we sure it's cool if any of us lot show up? I wouldn't want to deepen anyone's distress by rocking up when unwelcome for all that I very, very much want to say goodbye.

There seems to be a bit of 'disagreement' going off on his FB page & the crowdfunding website too.

Very sad.

As I said on the other thread, I never met the man, however his "Waiting...." thread reduced me to tears on a number of occasions.

A great wordsmith with a real talent for writing.

I hope he rests peacefully.

Do you really think CB & I would put it on here without her blessing? Especially as it outlines her request to us in the OP!

The tone and content of the message she put up pretty directly conflicts with this one - who of us lot went to their wedding? - so yeah, actually, I absolutely did think it was possible there was some misunderstanding or disagreement there.

We're all hurting, let's not attack each other too eh?
