Never been and fancy the drive, any experiences of where to buy tickets and where to stay would be appreciated. Staying Saturday and Sunday night with the wife. decent camp sites possibly considered.

Not been since '96/'97 or so, but bought mine at the circuit.

Received mine already direct from circuit ( on the link above )

They still have 5% discount available.

People (myself included ) have had bad experiences in the past from external agencies.

The town of Spa is a fairly short drive, with some nice bars/restaurants for the evening, but not a lot of accomodation there.

Stavelot , the same but even less. Francorchamps is full of noisy "musically challenged" Germans.

Brussels, & to a lesser extent Liege, are a bit of a hike, but maybe worth trying Verviers or South East of Spa across the border in Germany.

The best places tend to get booked 1 year ahead (I always do) but you should find something if you just need a B & B.

I camped in 2010 on Elephant campsite, would have been alright if it hadn't rained for the entire weekend.

Last year, I stayed in Leuven, which was a bit of a trek but easy enough to reach the circuit by train and shuttle bus. There are also more hotel/B&B options than you'll find in places closer to the circuit.
