Everyday ‘Supercar’
Discussion
Its been done to death a number of times.
If you think an R8/911/shopping trolley/F40 is a Supercar then it is, drive what you drive or aspire to what you aspire to and enjoy it.
It is such a subjective, vague definition that there will never be a proper consensus. I, for example, can’t even follow my own rules: an Audi can’t be a Supercar. Is an XJ220 a Supercar? Yes!
Oh, and a Ferrari or Lamborghini can easily be used as a daily.

...also, every day means 10k miles a year ... how much will it cost to run a F12...nobody knows as it has not been done!!!!
These cars are not designed to do this type of mileage...they will fall apart in no time....
Same for Lambo or Maclaren...they cannot be used every day or you will be grippled by consumable costs and the car will be most of the time at the garage getting fixed...

At 9am in rush hr traffic across crappy roads from just outside Reading via Wallingford and Didcot this morning. 0C, ground mist/fog conditions. On PZeros
And she did the evening run up from Devon last night.
I just dumped her at Gatwick for a cpl of days. She will drive back to Devon on Friday.
I think I’ve put 5000 miles on her since I picked her up in July.
But then I’m also the bloke who put 60,000 miles on an Alfa 4C from new in 3.5yrs (inc a yr of Covid) as a daily driver.
Good man! I agree with DeejRC...it can be done. I ran a 550 Maranello for four years as my daily driver. Before that I ran a Porsche 911 GT3 (996.2) as a DD. Drove them both in all weather and in all day-to-day scenarios (work and play). Apart from the petrol costs, the 550 actually wasn't as ruinous financially as one might think. Nothing went wrong, servicing averaged around £1,500-2,000 per annum over my four years of ownership, happy days! Wish I'd never sold it.At 9am in rush hr traffic across crappy roads from just outside Reading via Wallingford and Didcot this morning. 0C, ground mist/fog conditions. On PZeros

Good choice ! If clocking up big trips the 550 makes a lot of sense.

I know plenty of McLaren owners who use their cars every day, even leaving them out on the streets, The more you use them the more reliable they are. They are designed to be used, in fact the more you use them the less they cost per mile. Nothing worse than paying £5k pa for a warranty then only doing 500 miles in your car, that's £10 a mile in warranty before anything else. I wouldn't daily mine because of where I live in South London with speed bumps, width restrictors, 20mph zones and on street parallel parking required on a daily basis but if I lived elsewhere I would use my McLaren every day I could and make everyday that bit more special. These cars are not designed to do this type of mileage...they will fall apart in no time....

Yep, up until the beg of Nov I was using my McL everyday. After all, they're cars and made to be driven. I'm out in the sticks though so easily done here. Enjoyed every moment and never concerned myself with the running costs so they couldn't have been that bad. paddy1970 said:

I’ve done 14k miles in a year in my FF. When I swap to an F12 I’ll be doing the same mileage in that. If it’s got Ferrari warranty what’s the issue? These cars are not designed to do this type of mileage...they will fall apart in no time....
