MC20 - Anyone else submitted their spec this week?
Discussion
Bumping this a bit... My MC20 Cielo has landed with the dealer and will be arriving with me in a couple of weeks (holiday timing not ideal).
Bianco Audace (Pearlescent white), Ghiaccio laser interior (light colour), silver calipers, MMXX wheels...as the highlights. And having a big trident on the rear engine cover, as per the launch / preview model.

I picked up my coupe a couple of weeks ago and headed straight for Europe.
Did about 2.5k miles to Germany vie tunnel, Reims etc.
Great thing, very comfortable on long trips as well as the twisty bits, although didn’t get too many of those yet.
Going to change the tyres for Michelins, but otherwise spot on, and looks great.
Fouriserie options for berry red seats and also black painted exterior plastics. Has carbon roof,

Nice colour combination - discrete and very classy. How are you finding it? Is it a daily like a 911 would be? What’s the warranty/service pack? That Jayemm pointed to a very stiff ride in his review - is he right?Did about 2.5k miles to Germany vie tunnel, Reims etc.

So I've done 2500 miles in it now, mainly on mways/autoroutes though. It does pretty much what I expected - great sportscar, not an extreme supercar, though very fast, and very useable while you always feel like you're in something special. Steering is great, and car is properly edgy in a good way when pushed.
Looks fantastic to me, and I always like something a bit different. Boring stuff - would prefer more luggage space and a bigger fuel tank, and you have to plan ahead to not park in a space where you might be jammed in and not get doors open when you get back!
Watched the Jayemm review, and honestly it's rubbish! Hard to watch more than once, but it's either broken, or more likely seems he doesn't know what to do with mode/damper mix. Says it's harsh just before putting dampers into soft (which is the default mode for this or any modern Ferrari on Uk back roads), then briefly puts it into sport/soft before jumping to corsa, which is track mode - on a B road...
Read or watch any other review and they are consistent in saying the opposite about the car. A couple even say it's a mix between an Alfa GTA and an Alpine, and having a GTA and previously 2 Alpines, this is much more accurate. I do think it would be improved with better tyres with more grip when cold/wet and not such stiff sidewalls (ie Michelins!).
Overall very happy and much preferable to a 911 for the way I'm using it, but as a daily it is more supercar with the negatives of ground clearance, luggage space, ease of access and attention. You don't just jump in and go without thinking ahead, like a 911.
It is a Maserati though, which is still a very good thing!

I would be the first to agree that the car I experienced doesn't sound like any of the reviews of the MC20 - but I'm not going to lie just to avoid looking silly.
FWIW I drove the car in Soft/GT mode 95% of the review - I'm familiar with mode selectors, and how they work.
I think if you feel the ride of a Giulia Quad is comfy/plush you'll probably feel the same way about the MC20

They don’t have comfy/plush ride, but they do have great damping so they recover their composure quickly. FWIW I drove the car in Soft/GT mode 95% of the review - I'm familiar with mode selectors, and how they work.

The GTA is a level above standard quads, (I’ve had 2) which are very good , but not to same degree as GTA.
Quads, GTA, MC20 are sports, supercars so while the ride stiffness is not a rolls Royce, (but better than say a Huracan), they do go down roads very quickly without being unsettled. In your video there was a lot more undamped action going on than I’ve ever experienced.
Did 8hrs in car over weekend just to check!
I keep looking at these, but after a day or so and some time on Autotrader, i come to the conclusion that its very similar to my old 12C. Which basically was a great car to drive, but it was neither a very convincing daily driver (doors, attention, luggage space), but also equally not extreme enough to be just a sunny weekend blast car. So its sits in the middle, and i am not sure if this could just be your only car. I think conventional doors, and a bigger fuel tank would go a long way to making it more daily usable.

Can't argue with that, it is similar. Suits me for lots of miles to specific events, with very little luggage and looking for something a bit different. You'd definitely struggle with a week's worth of luggage for 2, or if you had no other choices on a daily basis.
I'd have something smaller, older and less refined for a weekend only car.
Delivered yesterday...
Only been out for a short spin in it, but quick observations are:
- it has a lot of travel on the brake pedal before anything happens and the pedals are very offset, hitting the gas a couple of times by mistake
- you can't put it in Park without turning the engine off! So Italian!!!
Otherwise it's damn well as good as you could want of a supercar / GT / ... it's absolutely beautiful to look at, and is so planted and assured on the road. Gear change is very smooth and quick, suspension helps it to glide over shonky roads, it has plenty of headroom (comparing to my Huracan which is 'compromised' if I'm polite). And boy does it turn heads!!!
Even after a short drive, it's definitely grabbed me as something I want to spend a lot more time with!

Had one for the weekend and enjoyed it quite a lot - personally I thought it was very jekyll&hyde - happy to amble along but goes absolutely nuts with a bit of throttle!
However….I could NOT get on with the digital rear view mirror. It’s just not the same as a real mirror and my eyes constantly took a fraction to refocus which I found really off-putting! Anyone else found this or is it just that my eyes suck?
