Hi guys,
As always, when I post there is something on...
I'm in Poland at the mo... And as I was driving here I lost my clutch pedal. Went in at some point and lost feel for good at 120mph in Germany... Managed another 300miles using a racing gear change method.
Now the fluid has poured down from the bellhousing, although had not eacaped fully from the reservoir.
Obvioudly no clutch at all, what do you reckon slave cylinder or sth else?

If there is brake/clutch fluid coming from inside the bellhousing, the only place it can come from is the slave. And of course this in turn must have come from the reservoir, so it would be impossible for this to be full if that is the case.
Given it seemed to get worse over time, you may be very lucky in that refilling and bleeding might give you some sort of workable clutch to get you closer to home. But it's a remote chance.
Does sound like a new slave cylinder is required, which means gearbox out.

Certainly sounds line the slave has failed, be careful though a member on here had to replace the gearbox bell housing after a total slave failure
Curious why a slave cylinder failure killed a bell housing. Although while in there you might want to do the clutch. 1 it might be contaminated by fluid. 2 if its not new its gonna go some point and better to only strip out the box once.

Slave cylinder & release bearing is one piece it's rare but the brake fluid washes out the bearing grease the bearings run dry seize & in that case explode. Thanks for the replies guys,
Like you all said, it seems slave cylinder to me. I struggle to think how such s bad design could enter mass production (given the circumstances why they all go).
As for getting back home, I guess I could ride it clutchless, but prefer for it to be fixed first. Plus, it might give me a couple of extra days of hols
Btw, didn't make it to the car show at all. Shame that, but hey that's life.
Considered selling, but then what would I get instead...nothing that would excite me apart from E3 which I can't afford...
Ps. A bit drunk in Krakow right now so forgive me if I sound a bit slow and sulky
Ps2. Great to have you guys

The reason they are done this way is to get lighter pedals with heavy duty clutches + it is the only way to get completely even pressure on the release bearing.Like you all said, it seems slave cylinder to me. So,
The verdict is there now... It was a slave cylinder that has failed... Surprise, NOT!
It virtually melted. Decided to go for a new clutch assy as well since my current LS7 has had some spirited life in the fast (to include myself)
Went for a rear gearbox seal as well since mine is leaking. Oh, and am gonna get the gearbox oil changed, why not right? As I'm already spending nearly £800!!! On parts alone I might as well kick myself in the balls twice and have it sorted for a while now.
Now, I learnt that there is sweating from underneath the heads, very minor but it's there. Should I be concerned or leave it till it causes trouble?
Thanks for your help and support thus far
Ps. Bg ta to MF bad boys for getting the parcel organised and shipping them to Poland tomorrow for me. Lads I owe you!

heads sweating? So bad head gaskets?
So it seems, but it's only that there is some oil sweat visible where they meet the block.
