.......unless they suddenly up the price from that which has been indicated
Inevitable ???For 100 exclusive cars in roadster format ?? By how much do you think they are covering their unit costs on such a small output ?? What is the anticipated demand ??
I think the answer to those questions will inevitably necessitate a hiking of the price. Great if you can get one though
Slots are not actually being allocated yet - at most, individual dealers have told a single customer that they will have a car (all UK dealers can reasonably assume they will get at least one car) - that's the position I'm in
In fact I think UK dealers will get more than 1 car as it's not available in the US, china or most middle eastern markets so my guess is circa 40 for the UK (I think there are 22 UK dealers ?)
They won't make more than 101 cars. They may try to move the price marginally. But 150k definitely the idicative price
I suspect they got their fingers burnt with Zag which definitely isn't selling well plus, as others have indicated on here, the upgrade cost is pretty severe becase the 150k will be non-negotiable - the real world premium over the coupe is more like 30-40k based on what you can actually buy a new V12V coupe for. Perhaps they realise that given the 60-75k upgrade cost for those with V8S roadsters & V12V coupes, the most likely buyers of this car, 150k is the max it will sell at
For instance much as I want one, if the price goes up, I won't buy - at 175k+ for a V12VR, I'd keep my V8S roadster and spend 100k on a GT3RS

But will they command a premium over this new price on the 2nd hand market if they are all sold??? Is it a genuine investment opportunity with such a limited run? Questions, questions, questions.....
Depends on what mileage is put on it, and also what the V8V replacement is like. If they release a new Vantage with 500 bhp then I reckon it would hurt the residuals of the V12VR a lot!George H said:

If they release a new Vantage with 500 bhp then I reckon it would hurt the residuals of the V12VR a lot!I think the biggest issue for V12VR pricing and residuals will be if they quickly find those 100 buyers. If they do then you can bet they will be almost no discounts and residuals will remain sky high as they will be rare as hens teeth. If they dont find 100 willing buyers then discounting will commence and residuals will be on a par with V12V Coupe. i.e. great if you haggled a good discount, not so great if you paid full RRP.
I personally expect to see the average RRP of a V12VR to be more like £160-£165! Its very easy to add £10-£15k of options : pick a non fast track paint colour, add in lightweight seats, piano black, front parking sensors and either Premium or B&O and you are there in the blink of an eye! The other way to look at it is that V12V is £135k now and if V12VR is £150k then you just need to add that £15k difference to the average RRP of a V12V - The RRP of mine was £148k...

That is the best looking V12V I've seen (Phil's was a close 2nd but the vents bumped it down a spot ), but the amount of people who will just want the latest and greatest thing will be surprising, which is what I think will hurt residuals. It's interesting and a hard one to call, if there is ongoing demand for the car beyond the 101 then residuals could be great and you can enjoy this stunning car and loose very little but it is a "maybe" with lightly used coupes at just over/under £100k that has to temp people to keep 60k (after a few options) in their pocket and go the tin-top route, you could also argue that the tin-top is the better spec for a real driving machine.
But I do miss my V8 Roadster in some ways and I would LOVE one of these, but it's about £70k to change and the irony is you could have a lightly used V8 Roadster and keep the V12 coupe for that! There is also the question of a DBS Volante, even a new one could be had for V12VR money (I know they are different cars, but the genes are getting closer with Roadster vs Volante)although the DBS is going to drop like a stone because of the new Vanquish . Nice decisions to have to make, but I'm sitting on the fence for the moment with this one.

At that price, to sell 100 cars will still be a challenge. I think some dealers will order one, and many of them will be still for sale in a few months, waiting for somebody to grab it (don't forget you can buy a manual DBS Volante also, don't know about the price in the UK, but here a new V12V Coupe costs roughly the same (ore even more) as a slightly used DBS Coupe)
the key issue to residuals is how many of those who've been hankering for this actually sign on the dotted line. But remember it's only UK cars that affect UK residuals so they only need to find 40 ish buyers for supply & demand laws to take over
Incidentally, regarding the post above about options, piano black will be standard, as it will on the V12 coupe, from MY13 onwards.
Also, apart from the fact I think premium sound is just as good as B&O (I know not all agree), my second roadster had B&O and it robs boot space with a large hump for the amp - I wouldn;t order B&O on a roadster even if it was free.

This car stacks up IMO - rarer than a Zagato (admittedly not better looking) and very likely the last manual 'new' model v12 engined they will make? That's been said before I know, but the vanquish appears to back that up.
I've confirmed that the sill plaques will have the chassis sequence number on, so chance of more being made is lower, though I've also said my order is subject to written confirmation that they won't make more.
anyone interested in buying my 2010 morning frost coupe?!

Good work Matt
I've been intentionally quiet over the last week whilst I considered my conundrum.
Do I;
Order a new a V12V roadster
Put more money in for our house move
Mess with the S
Well unsurprisingly I've come up with a 4th option
Which is a combination of the last two!
ETA - having tried a V12 coupe with light weight seats I have confirmed I cannot get on with the gear change to 2,4 & 6th because of the seat "wings"
I cannot justify letting my S go as part exchange for £80k and adding another £80k on top!
As much as I LOVE the idead of a V12VR I would ruin it's collectability by putting a shed load of miles on it.
So on the basis I want the performance of the V12 with out devaluing a classic I have been chatting to Mike & BR.
We are working on a plan to "create" their next monster over the winter
