Wet drivers carpet, where exactly should I be sealing ?

I'm sure there are loads of threads on this subject but 'PH Search' is down and the google search isn't returning anything.
As the title suggests, I've got wet carpets, mostly drivers side but also a little bit on passenger side too.
These are the things already done, but have not cured the problem.
1.Brake and Clutch master cylinders
2.Door seals modified with front/back escape channels created.
3.Both roof and rear sections have been waterproofed
So where else should I investigate and seal ?

Exactly the same dilemma here, it was like a lake in there. The obvious signs are showing nothing. Blasted the hose around yesterday and saw no ingress... The only other thing i am thinking is maybe a crack in the fibre glass? Maybe the crack is opened when weight is in the car, added pressures? This would explain why it is not self-draining... I'll take a look on a bright day and will report back!
Check the wiper arms where they enter the body and also the windscreen seal.
My windscreen seal looks ok but on closer inspection has become unstuck above the drivers side footwell.
This leads me to believe that it is indeed the windscreen seal that is responsible for my small lake in the footwell as when driving in rain, I have no water ingress - only when parked up when the rain can run down the screen.

+1 on the windscreen seal, mine looked fine but was completely unstuck at the bottom corner.My windscreen seal looks ok but on closer inspection has become unstuck above the drivers side footwell.

Nice one Ryan, cheers. I am in need of a new screen as mine has a scuff mark right in my field of view that won't polish out, so that should tick that box.My windscreen seal looks ok but on closer inspection has become unstuck above the drivers side footwell.

Next up, what is the best way to access the wiper posts, from outside by removing the grill below the windscreen or from inside by removing the dash top ?

The original rubber grommet seals on mine were perished.

I have sealed over the cable grommets (3 of them) just forward of the clutch/brake master cylinders in the engine bay. Are there others, I couldn't see any obvious ones.
Bonnet release cable I can see inside the footwell but it disappears upwards out of sight and can't seem to find it under the bonnet, will have to look harder I think.

The brake fluid reservoir is the main culprit if water is getting in around the peddles, also check the door rubber, it should have a small depression in it at the bottom to allow water to escape

Make sure the hood is sealed properly with something like Fabsil. Also are the seals by the doors intact? Referred to as 'elephant ears' they can rot or get pulled away and rain can get in, especially if you've been out in our recent monsoons.
Yep, good suugestions, did the roof, 3 coats fabsil about 3-4 weeks ago now.Hadn't checked those, so just looked and the elephant ears look to be perfect nice solid, shiny and black and in the right position no spilts.
I am determined to sort this even if I drown doing it ..........

Nice one Daren: I wasn't aware of that type of product, do you know what the trade name(s) for it.Incidently I've used Sikaflex, works but a bit messy.
If it's getting wet in both passenger and drivers side, then it's unlikely to be a door seal or something more specific to one side
Is it definitely water, not coolant, as coud be leaking through the heater system behind the dash
Did you look to see where the water is originating from ?

The strip was some i had spare from the bit under the windsreen ..Purchased from a Kit car trim website.
Screws from the scrap yard.
Had this recently, and sequentially eliminated leak sources with aid of a hose, then a jug of water. This is the drivers side only though.. Used a towel to isolate each of the various inner wing penetrations, and a jug of water. One pouring one observing (everything under the bonnet looked well sealed). Turned out to be the penetration where the wires from the brake reservoir cap penetrated the inner wing... A clear trickle of water could be observed coming down the bulkhead just behind the pedals (carpet removed). Hope this helps...

Definately not coolant, mines got a good amont of antifreeze in it, I know what that tastes like, strange sweetish taste (don't ask !!) The stuff in the footwell is definately rain water, like your lateral thinking though, nice one.Is it definitely water, not coolant, as coud be leaking through the heater system behind the dash

Passenger side is really a very tiny amount of water, more damp than wet, could be from shoes etc during recent bad weather, but drivers side is sopping wet with puddles in the ridges under the carpets.
