I'm in the process of buying a very old, but new to me house. The house has lots of outbuildings and barns. Some are okay, and some are dilapidated.

In one of the buildings, perhaps a garage. That appears to be in good condition, apparently sits a Rolls Royce silver wraith. It's supposed to be a 1970s car in limo spec. And has a private plate on it, that the owner can't remember.

This is all I know about the car. That, and the building it's in looks to be in ok condition, but is so overgrown with brambles that it's not going to be possible to see the car. Google Maps shows the building and land around it becoming overgrown in around 2001. I know other buildings near it were last opened in 1993. So my guess is the car hasn't run or moved since around this time too.

Given it's going to be a pain to shift the car. What should I offer for it? It could be a gem, or it could have dissolved and returned to Earth.

I can't find many for sale to get a gauge on price. Or to figure out if this is a unicorn car.

I can pretty much guarantee that it won't be economically viable to save if it's been off the road so long nobody can remember when it was last seen..... The private plate is also likely worthless if the car didn't make it onto the DVLA computer when records switched to digital. You may be able to reclaim the number but it will then likely be non-transferable and tied to the car for ever more.
Given the description of the house, I'd say the Rolls shouldn't form any material part of negotiations.... the vendors are welcome to remove it should they wish ... or leave it for you to dispose of. In all probability it will go for breaking or 'scrap' effectively and should be priced as such - £1000-£2000. Old Rolls of that era have minimal value and are actually been going down in value in recent years... nobody wants big thirsty expensive old barges that are complicated and specialist to fix....

Nothing.

You won't be able to transfer the plate without a MOT on the Rolls (not Rolles).

Tell the vendor to get it shifted or give you the V5. Then you can decide at leisure. I reckon it's probably beyond any sort of salvation. Except perhaps a Spirit of Ecstasy for your mantlepiece.

Agree with the comments above I wouldn’t offer any money for the car, tell the sellers to remove it themselves or give you the log book for it as part of the overall purchase.

I’ll guarantee they don’t want to try moving it out

Look at it this way, you probably own one of the very few barn find cars that can genuinely be called that.

It's probably in a right state, but if the building hasn't come down on it, you never know, it might be vaguely saveable.

From the way your posts read, you're not at all bothered about it yourself, so my suggestion is to get someone like Jonny Smith from The Late Brake Show onto the extrication of it.
If it turns out to be not a total horror story, you'll have some free marketing to an audience of the kind of discerning buyers/sick weirdos who are likely to buy such a thing, and if it's completely done for, well, someone else has done the work of getting it out for you.

The only offer I'd be making is to accept the V5 FOC

Otherwise they need to shift asap
