 I'd have been tempted to leave that, and call it patina.  Love the hammer parking brake too. Pity it's not acceptable for IVA, or I'd have one of those over a hand brake.

I must admit even though it is in a fairly common colour it did catch my eye.

I am not very skilled as a photographer, but I had a great day on the 11th driving through Carmel Valley to Carmel, California. Must have had at least 80+ insects meet their demise on my forehead!
