.5 works nicely for me, I had major graphics issues in previous versions but .5 is much much better.
I've also been transported by hackers twice in .5 and had the character selection screen up rather than my L85/M4CCO character, swings and roundabouts!

I just joined a random server and found a camp in a stupid position near the NWAF. I relieved them of 2 M4 CCO SDs and ammo, NVGs, range finder and their bicycle.
While on my merry cycle tour of the map I found another camp. I swapped one CCO SD for a FAL NV and 3 mags. Its just a shame I can't put them down anywhere at the moment.

I will check to see if it's up and running now matey. Just thinking it would be worth changing the time to gmt-6 as the server me and asterix jumped onto last night was rammed with players and had the same setup (as well as showing your location on map which was a bit pump) EDIT Server is up and running as normal

Yeah lets run it -6 and run it on .4 in line with most active players. We want as many as possible in with us so keep it mainstream!

All our kit came back no problem after the restart Just spotted two guys on a quad in zelenogorsk but I've no idea where they went after that. Not really in any position to chase them given how quickly they disappeared

Great fun today guys and nice teamwork to get those 3 at Zele. Not to mention some decent shots. Shame I ended up as bait but N/M. I told you all there were lots of people at Zele on our server :-)
Im on days for 4 days straight now so ill be back next week sometime!

Matt - here's a full size screenshot. Quality will be slightly less than the original tho, had to set it at 5 in Photoshop to bring it under 1 meg.

Quality - High/Very High on most of it video memory at Default (read that's best of you've over 512mb).
Visibility 10000.
3d res at 2560x1440.
Post processing off, HDR at low.
Pretty much as good as I can get it without worrying about tweaking, I don't really need to, this gives me 60fps with vsync on (dunno what it would be without).

Ok got my first taste of this tonight. Friend installed it on his laptop ages ago and I didn't even realise..
Spawned outside Cherno in complete darkness, so gamma and brightness up full and trying to navigate the shadows.. next I see a HUGE fire in the treeline behind were the blocks of apartments are? Hackers I'm guessing.. hey suits me as it's lighting up as far as I can see. Happy days.
Did some sneaking and climbed a few buildings. Makarov and loads of ammo, win. Enter the apartment blocks and find a bag, matches, knife, compass, watch and map. Then I climbed one building that had 3 ladders and medical box up top. 10 bandages, epipens, morphine, blood bags.. you name it. Not a bad start. All of a sudden zombies start climing up onto the roof beside me and I ran out of ammo pretty fast..
Can't wait to get stuck in when I get my own machine built.

Also had my first go on this game last night. Cheated slightly as I was on my uncle's laptop (Alienware, very nice) and he already had an AK, ammo and plenty of food. He hasn't played it all that much, so hadn't wondered far from the coast, so I decided to go inland a bit.
Found a bit of a settlement in the middle of nowhere and there was a downed helicopter next to it to. There were way too many zombies to get near the helicopter though, no tree or bush cover near it and right next to the road. I left that and snook into a building instead. Found some sardines, a can of coke and wood.
Moved on through the woods after that and came across a derelict church like building. Only two or three zombies nearby, I snook around staying close to the walls and found the entrance. I went inside and round the corner to find another player looking the other way, a couple of shots to his head later and then a quick onslaught of 4 or 5 nearby zombies I was looting him and his stash he'd put in a tent! Absolute jackpot; Sniper (AS50 I think), gillie suit, MP5, Enfield, cooked meat, a bigger bag than I had and NVG! Can't wait to have a go in the dark with them.
Moved on from there soon after, looting a few more buildings but finding nothing of use. Heading north again through the woods, there was some open ground and a wild boar strolling around. No zombies around whatsoever so I pulled the handgun out and killed it. Got four raw meat steaks from it and with the stuff in my pack I have the ability to cook it. I munched the sardines I found earlier and had a drink as that was running low and stored the meat in the spaces I'd opened up by doing that.
Left the game at that point, having played for nearly two hours, thouroughly impressed by the realism and the quality of the graphics was better than I expected.
