Top gun - you get no benefit in mm from having the lower gun.

Hummel is not so bad and a good cash earner. The GWpanther will go when I get the GwTiger but will keep both Grille and Hummel as they are good fun.
Thanks AM04ARO , appreciated feedback

Off to purchase and try it out.

Agree that the Grille is fun... especially when you have come from the SturmpanzerII shed.

I give it 3 games, and unless the losses are clearly mainly due to stupidity, either on team or my part, then I give up and go play on my U-boat. Some days I can take a bead on something and snot it one, even without going in sniper mode, other days can be zeroed in, aiming directly for a weak point and bounce after bounce. I am also sure WoT do it on purpose.

It would be worth going for the Hummel as it is largely the same as he Grille. I use the aiming and reloading mods which although expensive are worth it.

I wouldn't be so quick to get rid of the GWPanther as it is probably one of the best artys in the game. Reasonable maneouvreable, quick to load (for arty) and does a fair amount of damage, and can earn some good credits. Later arty, especially tier 8 can become expensive to run. Even in a game where I am on the winning side, I can still make a net loss in my Type E, especially when played on maps that are not particularly arty friendly and which limit the nunber of good shots you can get off.

So i have enough XP to get a Panther or I need another 7,000 to get a Tiger. Only got about 500K in credit so I will need to build that up either way.

Question: Panther or Tiger?

I think Tiger despite performing better with the Panther. The Tiger was a bit of a disappointment for me and was happy to move on.

I'm getting to this stage with the game too, last night I put three rounds in an E-75 (from my E-75) I get two penetrations with no damage and a bounce. The bounce fair enough but he was on 10% and by rights should have been toast.

In a later battle platooned with a mate I fired (from the same tank) four rounds at point blank range into the side of a tracked IS-8 all penetrated doing zero damage, he was on 50% he should have been dead.

Could be very wrong but I'm now convinced more than ever that WoT sets some parameter on hit damage when you select a tank from the garage.

Had a nice series of wins on MS-1 today, 4/5 in a row, killing other tier 1s in one shot, two at most, then I wandered off to have a go with the M8A1 for a bit. Kept being matched right at the bottom of the tree so came back to my gold plated elited bells and whistles MS-1.

Encountered a loltraktor already down to 8% wandering around looking lost, 4 bounces and a 5th penetrated but no damage, then I get snotted in one by arty. grrrrrr.

Apologies but I don't have dozens of these monster tanks with drain pipe sized guns. Play about 4 different low tier tanks and stick everything I can on them.

Encountered an ELC AMX(?) last night for the first time, ferk me that's quick.

Decided to break out my MS-1 for a laugh, and had my best game ever. Kind of cruel on the new players but I enjoyed it biggrin

Had fun in the AMX ELC tonight - a fun little tank to be honest, I thought like most <tier 5 tanks in the french tree it would be a hateful thing, but it is actually rather fun.

Good game but based on your hit ratio I think someone needs to explain the round dotted thing on your screen that you probably think gets in the way and "how do I turn it off" is a reticule. In the centre of that should be a little cross or "V". Place this over an enemy tank and you should do even better!

Here's one to get your imagination going.

Tier 1 and 2 battle on Mines and I'm in a micro mouse, starting from the northern base. Normally on Mines I would go for the hill as you can shoot over a lot of the map from there, but due to the fact that the micro mouse is a bit on the slow side, I thought I would sit back near base and defend if needed, so plodded up the small mound near the cap circle that allows you to keep an eye on the village to the east, as well as the approach from the hill and the lighthouse.

First encounter between the teams is on the approach to the hill, as you would expect, and our team gets off to a good start going 2-1 up and taking the hill. At that point quite a few of the opposing team had been lit up on the far side of the hill, so I thought I would go and join in. However, as I started moving I noticed three enemies on the mini-map trying the lighthouse route. We had a couple of guys over that way in the water, but I thought I would stay put just in case they broke through.

Having settled back in to where I had originally been sitting, I noticed that we were 2-9 down. WTF! How did that happen. At this point I still hadn't fired a shot, but a few of the enemy tanks were visible trying to approach our base via the lighthouse route and the water, so I engaged them. After a short exchange of shots, and having killed 2 tanks, I re-checked the score to discover we were now 13-5 down! I have no idea how it had gone downhill so fast but there was just me and a Pz35t left, who was defending on the same small mound as me.

Unfortunately one of the enemy tanks coming from the lighthouse had got through to position himself just below the mound, and was lighting us both up for his mates. My comrade took it upon himself to drive off the mound to take this interloper on, which I thought was a bit foolhardy, and he didn't get very far before being taken out. So the score was now 5-14 and I'm left alone to face the 10 remaining enemy tanks.

Needless to say the next few minutes were a bit hectic, but I was helped by the fact that I managed to finish a couple of guys off before they got too close, and a couple that tried to climb the mound to take me out didn't coordinate their attack and I was able to engage them one at a time to knock them out. Another guy capping was daft enough to move out from his position of relative safety tucked right beneath the mound out in to the middle of the cap, and a couple of shots were enough to see him off. A Tetrarch gave me a couple of worrying moments, getting good hits on me before I was able to take him out, and with my health quite low but with two opponents left, I thought I had done well to get the score back to 13-14 but was still expecting to lose. I'm not sure how I took the next two guys out without taking any further hits, as both were on full health, but that's the way it goes sometimes, and I just count my blessings that again I only had to face them one at a time.

Final score 15-14, with 12 kills and Kolobanov's medal. smile

Harsh. I was doing some long range sniping which the MS1's peashooter isn't ideal for biggrin

Reporting someone for cheating doesn't actually do anything does it? Some kids reported me and a mate last night for cheating as they didn't think our KV-1 guns should fire as quick as they do (1.96s reload biggrin )

I'm finding the new matchmaking a bit trick for light tanks. My A20 and T50 are regularly in matches with tanks 3 or 4 tier higher, which makes some sense as they're scouts, but until you've got the crew fully trained up it's a nightmare, I seem to be visible from further away than my sight range, so quite often get killed before I've seen the shooter. I'm sure once I've got the crew fully trained with camoflauge and recon skills it'll be a lot better, but it makes grinding the partly skilled crew a pain.

I've also come across a tier 1 MS-1 in a couple of tier 5-6 games which is a bit odd.
