Segs and Blakeys for Shoes

Brings back memories from the 70's also. Used to fix at least three of the larger ones to my loafers and spent many a happy hour on Guildford High St , sparking!

londoncentral2 - I'm looking to get some Blakeys fitted on to a new pair of shoes. Where abouts in London are you.
Some advice would probably be required i.e. Do you fit them front & back of the shoe? Cost etc?

Can you fit quarter irons to new shoes? I've got a pair of Grenson Archie brogues, heavy bad boys with triple sole and heel. The heel has a rubber quarter and they just don't sound right and I want that drill sergeant click, so can I replace the rubber with metal? Not keen on blakeys since they raise the heel a little and would prefer quarter irons.

I wanted to get some good shoe repairs done, so after a search on here I contacted Graeme (LondonCentral2) via PM and he has since carried out some really good repairs for me. He's reheeled a pair with a metal insert in the corner to reduce wear, and added Blakeys to the toe section of another pair. He collects and returns too, and he's picking up another pair next week. Highly Recommended.
