Nottingham Goose Fair
Discussion
I've just got home from the fair.
Having only lived in Nottingham a few years, I don't know what it used to be like. I go because my wife insists we go and do things like buy chips from the Boys Brigade stall, try to win a horse race by rolling balls through down holes and pummeling the weak/elderly/young in the dodgems.
The atmosphere does have an edge, though, as has been mentioned. But there are loads of police there.
I spend money there because I don't want things like this to disappear, or outlawed by the PC/Health and Safety lot.
Would we better off if things like this disappeared?

Mushy peas and mint sauce were a lot better from the stall in Vic Centre market.... how many years ago?
It's a shame they finish the Fair on Saturday instead of Sunday now.
We used to take the kids on a Sunday morning when there were no chavs and steamers around, and very few people either.
