Due to the lack of events this year (mainly due to the weather), I was wondering if there was demand for a more "regular" local SWPH Meeting for the Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, Dorset area (others welcome), that way you can turn up in a daily driver for the meet if the weather is poor. I have created a couple of suggested formats and locations and if your interested, please vote by editing the list and adding your details Suggestion 1 A Wednesday evening meeting once a month, starting 6.30pm at Exeter or Plymouth, then a run to a pub either on Dartmoor or on the coast somewhere, a pub snack & a drive back. Routes can vary. Suggestion 2 A Sunday morning breakfast meeting once a month, probably at Route38 to start with, eat a breakfast then a drive around the area. Ignoring dates for now, just trying to get a feel for attendance & demand Once I know what the demand is like, i'll talk about dates and try and fix 3 months ahead. 2nd Wed of the month for example. If there is no need for a regular meet, or i end up standing alone in a car park, then it will not go ahead.

I'll put my name down on the small chance that I have time and/or working car on any specific date

I would turn up for some but as a small business owner I can never really book ahead as work has to come first

I'd be more interested in trying to get something going in Somerset, as far as I know Queens Square is the nearest thing that happens with any sort of regularity. It would be nice to have something nearer to some decent roads for those of us in North Somerset, Mendips, BANES etc.
I could get up early to get to meets in southern Devon or the one at Kemble, but for a few reasons I just can't do that. Of course I can't speak for others, but to me a 2/3/4 hour round trip is very much worth it for something like the Cheddar meets, I'm not sure it's ideal for a small group meeting and going for a drive.

Great idea to have a regular meet but unfortunately for me, Wednesday evenings and Sunday Mornings are nearly always out of the question.

As always if "I'm free Mrs Slocombe" I'll be along. Lots of swim meets to watch. Best run out this year, so far, was up to Exmore, not including the food in that. A bit far from Cornwall for a quick run out though. May be one for those winter Sundays when the roads are clear.

In theory, I am up for this, yes. Wednesday evenings are OK if 2nd of the month, 3rd are not as thats my advanced driving group evening meet. As always if "I'm free Mrs Slocombe" I'll be along. I don't have anything suitable for a drive out at the moment so I won't be joining any runs. Happy to meet up for brekky every now and then though. Hopefully my new car will be built and ready soon (currently still a bare paintless shell).
