Hi folks, Ben (in the black Golf MK2) here, just logged on to say thanks to Rob, George, & all those from the RAF who were helping on the day. I attended the Saturday event, which ran smooth, safe, & had an excellent relaxed & friendly paddock atmosphere. I will be recommending future events to others. I posted up some photos here: http://www.clubgti.com/showthread.php?254774-RAF-M...^ if linking is not ok, then let me know & I will post them up here (you shouldn't have to register to view the pics)

A big thankyou to all at RAF Marham for an excellent day! Organisation was superb and the idea of a reverse track a win in my book! Rob thanks for getting me in at such late notice Thanks to Quietlybonkers for the TVR introduction and for being very friendly when I really knew no one there. Always wanted to be taken out in one and I was definately won over by the V8 soundtrack. Also Dom for my first outing in a RX7 that just made me grin constantly when the external wastegate kicked in, I need one of those in my life (and some ear plugs). Stuart your driving was a truly pleasurable experince to witness first hand, blistering speed from the Holden and so controlled it gave me a mark to aim towards on future events. Ill be at the next event with out a doubt and look forward to seeing a few of your faces again. Dom, in the red mr2

Hi, Just a big thanks to the Rob, George & everyone else at RAF Marham who made this event possible. A fantastic day was enjoyed by my father and I in my beloved RX8, relaxed with a good atmosphere.
A first track event for us and one of many to come (in something more appropriate maybe!), covering well over 100 miles in the blistering heat certainly took its toll on the tyres ouch!
Anyway looking forward to next year, thanks again.

Mucho respect to whoever took that on track The owner said he bought it from California (hence the left hand drive and the total absence of any roof. It's based on a DB7, AM only made a few, and he bought this one when it was around 10 years old and with only 3000 miles on it. It's only got 4500 on now, thanks to having to be 100% certain of the weather before going out. He most certainly didn't take it out on track - his was the green track prepared DB7 that you can find on the Golf guys photos. Nice car.....when it was running. Poor chap kept smiling, despite his power steering losing fluid for most of both days.

Rob Swanson I'll be there for the next one - please don't ever run one in August again especially on the weekend of 17th/18th in 2013 I know there were reasons for this year but it's a rubbish month with families taking holidays and some pretty big shows elsewhere. Sounds like you guys had some fun - I always wanted to make Marham the last event for the Monza seeing as it started it's track life there but it didn't work out

rtv said: Only downside from me was the poor chap with the Saab (can't remember your name fella, sorry!) who's big end let go on the last lap he was going to do! Hope you get it fixed soon mate.
Rob Swanson
Just a quick post to say how nice to have RAF Marham back on the grid. Rob/George, your lads did themselves proud again, well done. The saabs had just come over from Bedford Aerodrome Trackday the day before, where if anything, temps were even higher than on the sunday. Not the best for our turbos, but they still put some markers down. I still remember having a chat with you at the gates when I pitched up on the sunday morning. Just as well I had no idea the car would let go at the last. Doh! Will drop the sump in a few more days time, and see what the damage is. Thoroughly enjoyed the Sunday, even with a few niggles. Didn't get the ammount of track time I would have liked, but found the reverse track quite interesting. Got some video footage of some great cars, including the Holden, TVR, Porches etc. Got the chipped window and smashed fog lens to prove it too! .....Must remember to tape the car for next time eh? Price you pay for driving too close. Hoping to see the two events again in 2013. SOULFIRER Kev

Kev. Hope its not too bad when you drop the bottom end mate. Mark DG tells me you'll replace it with a 9000 bottom end?

I usually take a lot of photos at car-related events, but this time limited myself to a few snapshots while I tried to get as many laps in as possible on the Saturday. Metallix, I was pleased to see one of my Camry in your photos :-) 1969 Chevrolet Camaro 350 by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr Not so many older cars, but this Camaro was a treat. 1999 Fiat Bravo 155HGT by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr This Fiat was quick, but seemed to be suffering problems in the morning. Holden GTS and Vauxhall Nova GTE at Marham by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr Cheap trackday fun - Legacy and Camry by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr My old thing together with friend Wuvvum's Legacy. Others who were on the track at the same time may disagree, but I thought the Camry did remarkably well for a FWD, leather-lined, auto 'box barge. It's car renowned for head gasket and transmission issues even in road use, so there was an element of risk, but it ran fine throughout the day, got me home and I hope it'll be there again next April. I hope it shows that you can bring anything along to this event and have a lot of fun.

Thanks to the organisers from the drivers of the Rat capri.
Another great event there and I liked the 2 tracks for the price of 1 option.
We had a slight overheat at the start of Sunday but after topping up it went stormingly for the rest of the day.
Though at the end I got to the point where the car was feeling a little ragged and I thought "It's about time to call it a day". So I pulled in to the pits and as I parked up one of the rad hoses touched the fan belt which sliced through it and dumped it's water.
We also had some great passenger rides through the day and great banter.
Roll on 2013!!!

Gents. I've knocked up a small write up and put it on the website http://www.marhamtrackday.co.uk/?page_id=916The only pics at the moment are Ben's (thanks for emailing these through to me mate!) but there are a pile more to add when I get chance to sort them all out. Also a video to make at some point too, just need to find the time!

A lot of that really made me chuckle thanks for that Especially the comments about the red nova - no matter how many times I've said it people still don't get that if you try and follow it you will end up crying (I've been in it as a passenger and what Rob does with it is sureal)
