It's just so amazing!
Edit: I just came across this thread, could this mean that the car was built up of McLaren bits or do I have the chronology mixed up? I've been trying to determine what those rear uprights are from.

From the pics If I had to guess I would guess at GT40 Uprights on the rear but only because I have never seen Mclaren ones. They could well be Mclaren ones.
Updated found some pics.....
These are GT40
These are unmachined M10a
the 4 mounting lugs look more like the mclaren ones.

Bill never took the picture, it's of a prototype Tuscan chassis in Mike Bigland's workshop in 1970, I think it subsequently became the underpinnings of Spotty Smith's race car.
I have a similar photo, via Gerry Sagerman.
Publishing it on PH, Bill? Naughty!
PS. Am currently in Vegas, been to SEMA, fly home tonight.
Ahhh Colin, thats the point. "I" didn't post it.I have a similar photo, via Gerry Sagerman.

But in reality, I'm kinda happy some folks are getting to see it.
Despite advice from graham48 I still haven't figured out how to post a photo. For those interested in the TVR V8 in the New Zealand Southern Festival of Speed, there is a set of photos from last February's meeting at Timaru Int'l Raceway. The Ruapuna (Christchurch) is traditionally the first weekend of February, Timaru the second and Teretonga the third. Timaru is the shortest circuit and usually has the fewest cars, this year ~200. For TVR V8 see photos 6,19,20,55,58,94,95,159,167,169,170,180 of the series: http://s43.photobucket.com/albums/e392/GravelBen/S...

From another forum:
Apparently from Oulton Park 1978
Another contributor adds this:
"The Ed Stephens Tvr Tuscan in the picture, is the ex Brian Hough Tvr 3ltr car converted to 4.7 litre V8, Brian was killed at Thruxton in the last modsports race of the year, in the Mike Bigland built 5.4ltr Tvr on 28/10/73..."
This would imply that the car may have survived.
Does anybody know if there were any other TVR modsports cars?
ESPECIALLY Ms?

The car definitely didn't survive bernard and was totally destroyed. it was then cut into a hundered pieces and disposed of. I am pretty sure that the car in your pic is the first car brian Hough Drove IE a 3ltr Tuscan which was later modified to V8. This was Nowt like the Bigland Built taft car in the earlier pics.Apparently from Oulton Park 1978

So we can assume from the text in those two links that the chassis pics earlier in this thread are/were destined for this car. Makes sense- pin drive/centerlock wheels @ rear, 4 stud @ front, mix of round & square tubes in chassis particularly in backbone & altered area around rear of motor.
The car above with STP logo on rear has side external exhausts wheras the chassis was obviously going to be fitted with underside type at that time- they appear to have only two primary pipes per side fabricated at time of photo.
