As others have said its an emotive subject isn't it.

My personal take is that if the car is already protected some way (wax/sealant/ceramic coating etc) then snow foam has a way easier time of helping. Yes thats pretty obvious but easily overlooked I think. If its pretty much bare paint thats filthy then a simple good pressure wash will remove 95% of the dirt anyway, but crucially snow foam won't remove ALL the dirt. Its just not designed for that.

The other thing that perhaps doesn't help is watching it being used on YouTube as an example. Pro detailers it seems (NOT ALL but some) seem to completely disregard the dilution ratios the OEMs state. Sure if you're buying in bulk and then the cost eventually trickles down to the customer then thats one thing. As weekend warriors its not cost effective to mix up a snow cannon at 5:1 rather than the recommended 20:1 for instance.

I've been messing around with an AG foam gun / polar blast set up. Could not believe how much of a waste of time it was thought it must be the product. Ordered some Bilt Hamber touchless, used that today and experimented with the dilution in the AG gun. Total waste of time. Anyone using these products with real results ?
I'm using them.

Not sure what you're expecting but I use them in the hope that the majority of gritty particles are removed before I get to the stage of actually wiping.

In that sense I think it does a pretty good job. The snow foam stage is literally an extra minute in the process so it's not like it's a chore. Let it dwell while you're filling the bucket up.

A properly diluted TFR in a pump sprayer as a pre soak is a 1000% better option than snow foam...
But that will strip any coating you got on which if you're even contemplating using things like snow-foam you're quite likely to have.

Cant be arsed with all the hand waxing anymore.
I’m in the spray on protection stuff which you blast off.
Just started on Autoglym Polar range which is a pre wash snow foam, Wash and then polar seal.
All with snow foam lance and just the it used with the wash.

For TFR I use regular 5 litre pump sprayers from the local garden centre. They pretty much all work okay but the Gardena ones I prefer and have given good service over the years. Avoid the cheapest ones from Screwfix etc as thay are just cheap and nasty plus horrible to use.

For years I have used TPS branded TFR, non-caustic and a great product IMO. As well as bodywork it does engine bays, door shuts, wheel arches no problem. Mine dilutes into the sprayer through a wall mounted meter but at a guess it's somewhere around 10-1 so it's pretty economical in use.
