I have got an itch that I am going to have to scratch with one of these, sadly they're really pretty expensive as far as yank muscle goes. I had a friend in London go and look at one for me earlier today, sadly not the one for me but I've got the bit between my teeth now. A friend advised caution when looking at the 6 Pack option on the Magnum engine, sounds worryingly and dangerously appealing though. Anyone had any experience of owning / working on one?

The 'Six Pack' was only a factory option on the 1970 'R/T' version of the second generation Charger ( your picture is a 69 ) and 3rd gen (different shape body). In theory the 'Six Pack', which is a trio of 3 x two choke carburettors, is not that complicated. The centre carb is the primary, the two outboards being vaccuum operated secondaries. People run into problems with them when they make 'unsympathetic' modifications to other parts of the vehicle (cam/ torque converter etc) or mis-diagnose a problem and mess about with the carburettors. There is plenty of literature available about tuning 'Six Packs', or American Mopar sites like 'Moparts.com' are very informative. The carburettors themselves are still available new (at a price) and are year and transmission specific. Hope this helps...

Thanks, the pic is just one off the web, not one I'm looking at.
The 6 pack does sounds gloriously ridiculous, almost essential for a silly car like this.

You may want to join 'dodgecharger.com' forum also. Good luck!

I have tried but I'm afraid it just has to be a black Charger.

I wouldn't buy a 6-pack car without documentation... Either a broadcast sheet or ideally Galen Govier documentation.
Too many fakes out there.

If I can find a good 'un at my right price then it'll almost certainly be a boggo spec Charger with the 383, not an R/T etc.

Just Has to be a 70 Challenger...... Preferably Artic White, or Plum Crazy !
I can well understand the apeal of the Charger though, but I will Never , Ever forget my Late Dads White with a Red interior , 70 RT SE Hemi 426 Challenger..... If only I knew what happened to it when he moved it on in late 72 / early 73 in favour of BJN 438K , his 71 Silver E Type V12 , which was Waaaay more practical.....
That day in circa Sept 72 that he pulled up in suburban Chingford , the neighbours thought a plane had landed in Priory Avenue.....

I have a 1969 charger...bought it years ago when they were cheap wouldn't worry too much about a 6 pack, would be very difficult to find one, as mentioned before it was only an option in later years, and a very rare one at that... not many people fit them either..if you really wanted one you'd probably have to fit it yourself Not that hard to find a charger for sale as they are popular, but they are very expensive for what they are.. as far as working on them goes...they are old cars, its all fairly simple and theres loads of info online nothing to worry about there... About the hardest thing is if someone has fitted aftermarket headers and they have to come off for something, most aftermarket headers wrap around the starter motor and on some the steering column goes through them... not a problem with a standard exhaust but not many still have a standard exhaust other than restored examples (of course if you want performance standard manifolds are much more restrictive than decent headers) Wiring is often a mess on old yanks due to age and people messing with it.

That says to me that the original Vanishing Point fillum is on the 'net somewhere but "back to front" as often happens on YouTube - damned if I can find it on YouTube though (and I'm not in to file sharing or torrents or whatever) .
