GT5 is crap, we all now that the Red Bull X car is science fiction.. its kind of a cheat.
What i want to know is how come when you do the online time trials etc there is always some punk who, apparently, in the same type of car as you (equal performance points) ends up at least 6 seconds faster normally more. Where the fk is he finding that much time?!!!
- selection of modifications to get that number of points - he may have spent it on better suspension and throttlebody where as you spent it on a turbo and brakes)
- perfection of line and smoothness of inputs
- also fine tuning makes a massive difference (playing with camber/ride height/gearing/aero etc)

Fair enough i can never be bothered with all of that. just turn the engine down to get the points and go for it.

Neither apply to my day to day driving!

Did we not have JC on Top Gear test track racing in an NSX on console Vs real track testing?

Pretty sure his RL track times just couldn't quite get better than console but he knew the track to a T after it all.

^Cool.

Also; one of my best mates is AMAZING on COD, I'm not far behind..
He's never ridden a bike but on MotoGP08 he's better than Stacey Moaner - I've ridden for 6 years on the road on a few bikes and I'm crap in comparison. I just can't get my 'real riding' to match the way the console plays it.

I'd say yes, if only because playing GT5 and GT4 with my wheel probably saved me from dropping my car off a bridge near Derby.
I came off a roundabout in the wet with a little too much gas, (foolish, I know) kicked into a nasty tank slapper and somehow held it on the road, although I was at a loss as to how.
That is until a few days later; playing GT5 I pushed too hard through a corner lost the back end and then held the resulting tank slapper. I can only guess after saving myself on numerous occasions in game, I just subconsciously did the same on the road.
